“BILAL” ANIMATED MOVIE TEASER BECOMES ONLINE SENSATION.

Dubai based Animation Studio takes on the mammoth task of bringing an epic ancient tale to life.

Dubai-based Barajoun Entertainment has released a 2-minute teaser for their upcoming animation feature film, ‘Bilal’ which has become the talk of social media and many other media/digital platforms.

“We are pushing the envelope in the region, and I believe “Bilal” is the first step. Our goal is to inspire and be inspired by surrounding ourselves with the best talents in the business”.

The first of its kind, “Bilal” is a massive undertaking utilizing the experience and skills of seasoned professionals from across the globe, with over 22 nationalities (and counting!). Zuhair Fayez (Chairman – Barajoun Entertainment)

A wise man once said “Great stories happened to those who can tell them.”
We understand that stories build bonds and connections, facilitate communication and transcend borders, our aim is bring to life inspiring stories born out of heritage & culture and also have global values.

And because we believe that, there isn’t anyone you couldn’t learn to love, once you have heard their story. Our mandate is to bring to life, “Stories that History has forgotten “ Ayman Jamal (Writer / Executive Producer)

Barajoun first film is inspired by the true story of an actual African hero and his journey, from facing dire oppression to becoming a noble leader. Bilal became the guardian and protector of his young sister when they were abducted in their childhood. The suffering they endured, and his ultimate defiance transformed Bilal into one of the most prominent figures of his age and time. A personality that is both loved and respected all over the world, to this day.

“The bond between siblings is something that is rarely highlighted these days. To have lost everything you held dear is an immense loss. It is only through their love and support that Bilal and his sister manage to rise above. To raise one’s voice against oppression and injustice even when all odds are stacked against you. These sentiments are universal and transcend race, language or culture.” Ayman Jamal (Writer / Executive Producer)

Barajoun Entertainment aims to bring a new flavor to the world of animation with ‘Bilal.’

“Animation is an art form, and so we have chosen to take inspiration from the actual account, and reimagine it in a colorful and unique way. The story is solely focused on Bilal’s personal journey. The historic milestones remain the same. Yet we have taken artistic liberties to enhance the storytelling and dramatic value of the story. This means the addition of fictional characters as well as fictional depictions of various sets and props. The film is more ‘symbolic’ than it is ‘realistic’, and we have made sure the soul of the story remains true to the actual account. After all, we wouldn’t want to simply make a documentary or real life biography if we’re going to take up the daunting task of making an animated feature.” Khurram Alavi (Director)

With a diverse canvas of over 80 characters, Bilal has already set a record in being the first 3D animated feature to portray the largest amount of performing characters in the art form of animated movie-making. Reiterating Barajoun’ s commitment to producing content of world-class standard, the unit comprising of more than 140 skilled professionals has meticulously ensured the gradual progression of Bilal and other major characters through different life stages in the story with the highest level of care and detail.

The voice of Bilal is performed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who is notably remembered for his roles in “Lost”, “Thor: The Dark World”, and the upcoming season of the popular television show “Game of Thrones.”

Bilal” is set for release in fall, 2015.
