GMH2 specialized in Character Hair Modeling & Stylizing, developed by Phung Dinh Dzung at Thunder Cloud Studio. GMH2 (Geo Maya Hair 2), Script that enables Maya users to model hair as polygonal geometry, then convert to Maya Hair.
User can easily produce complex and realistic looking hair in a shorter amount of time than simply starting out creating and styling Maya Hair alone using traditional polygon modeling method and convert to Maya Hair using GMH2 with 2 simple steps. In fact the streamlined workflow from GMH’s interface boasted that you could cut your hair development time by at least two thirds.
GMH’s interface allowed you to easily manage and organize hair strokes and everything that was associated with the Maya Hair system, including follicles and dynamics.
Once the hair has been created from the original polygon meshes, GMH2 will still allow you to work in editing the poly without the script installed. The applied hair will update as you go, dynamically changing to match what you are modeling with the polygon guides. And the output is compatible with V-Ray (including VRayHairMtl), Mental Ray and the Maya Software Render.
GMH2 allows you to now add more than one hair system to polygon meshes. This can achieve more realistic hair by customizing the hair with two or three hair systems to get a particular look.
GMH2 features highlight:
– Unlike the older version GMH, GMH2 can convert polygon to Maya hair with just 1 single click nice and clean.
– Even when the polygons are already converted, we can still carry on poly editing our hair models like normal polygon meshes. We can see the final hair result on the go as we model

– Presets manager to help user manage and edit multiple Hair system easily.
– GMH2 hair are compatible with Vray (included Vray Hair shader) , MentalRay and Maya software Renderer.
– Hair system created by GMH2 are usable and editable by other machines that dont have GMH2.
GMH2 has had also some updates to the interface, including the preset manager which will let you edit and manage multiple hairstyles easily. GMH2 script is written in MEL so it will runs on a PC, Linux or Mac, is compatible with (32 & 64 bit version): Maya 2013 , Maya 2014.
