Pipeline TD

We are seeking a PIPELINE TD to work closely with the Head Of Technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated PIPELINE TD who enjoys being part of an exciting and fast paced animation studio. The ideal candidate must have great asset management skills and the technical abilities to help develop and implement pipeline tools to streamline and solve digital production processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•Assists the Head Of Technology with all aspects of technical components
•React to pipeline development challenges and troubleshoot solutions
•Aids in the development of applications and creative pipeline tools and techniques to improve productivity
•Provides weekly updates on Pipeline development status, and notifies of any upcoming production risks
•Create and update documentation and assist with roll outs of new technology

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•2+ years of experience in required.
•Well versed in Python, PyQt. Knowldge of Django is an asset
•Experience with SQL, Shotgun, Qube and Maya is an asset
•Scripting experience with Adobe products is an asset
•Knowledge of Qt, Javascript , HTML is an asset
•Leadership and management skills with an ability to juggle multiple projects
•Must have a strong understanding of scheduling, project management, and working under strict deadlines
•Ability to collaborate and offer solutions with great problem solving skills

CG Rigger

Atomic Cartoons is seeking a CG Rigger to join our studio for our next CG television series.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

– The CG Rigger works closely with the Animators and Modelers to set up character, rigs that will maintain a cohesive look during the animation process.

– Creates and supports interfaces, control mechanisms and tools for receiving departments as assigned by the Modeling Supervisor
– Designs and implements new tools and techniques for the production
– Meets deadlines as assigned by production management.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

– Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Computer Animation, or other relevant area of study and/or equivalent job experience.
– 3+ years of industry (CG and/or Visual Effects) or equivalent rigging experience.
– Knowledge of Maya, MEL and Python preferred.
– Experience rigging a variety of characters and props, including facial animation systems.
– Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformation and biomechanics.
– Basic modeling skills and ability to understand polygonal mesh flow.

CG LIGHTERS

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated CG LIGHTER who enjoys being part of an exciting and fast paced animation studio (in-house only). We are recently created a new CG Pipeline for Television, so this is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor. A Lighting and Assembly Artist will work shot by shot or in sequences to attain the creative lighting goals of the director with the support of the Lighting Supervisor. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, understands CG Lighting Pipelines, and has a good eye for aesthetic while understanding the constraints of a television schedule.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

· Responsible for helping to develop the CG Lighting of sequences and shots.
· Ability to work with Nuke to composite final CG shots.
· Works with Directors Modeling, Rigging and Lighting Supervisor and Art Director to create the aesthetic vision of the production.

– Maintain sequence(s) edit and inserting animated scenes into the editing timeline
– Ensure the production database (using Shotgun) is updated with current progress
– Ensure that scenes cut into the sequence are correct in terms of version
– Preparing sequence edits for client approval when required
– Organize and run the dailies session
– Aiding in any pipeline/development issues that surround outsource

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

– At least 2+ years experience working in an Editorial Department
– Demonstrate proficiency in editing using Final Cut Pro
– A firm understanding of the animation process, workflow, and terminology
– Possess an understanding of film and HD video formats, files, frame rates, and resolutions
– File encoding/transcoding experience, exhibiting a sound understanding of video codecs and file formats
– Have basic Photoshop skills
– Compressor experience an asset
