Axis Animation Are Expanding Their Animation Team And Are Looking To Hire An Experienced Team For A Large Vfx Series To Work Onsite In Glasgow Mid September Onwards. The Animation Will Lean Towards The Extreme, Think Looney Tunes And Roger Rabbit And Require Our Main Animated Character To Perform Alongside His Live Action Counterpart.
Animators Should Have A Background In Cartoony Production, With Expertise In Highly Stylised Pushed Animation – Think Sony Imageworks, Not Pixar.
Cartoony, Character Keyframe Animation.
Facial Keyframe Animation.
Scene Caching And Clean Up.
Accomplished Examples Of Keyframe Animation, Both Character Acting And Full Body.
Thorough Knowledge Of Autodesk Maya Is Essential.
Good Communication Skill And Ability To Work Interactively With Production And Other Departments To Solve Production Challenges.
Strong Understanding Of The Principles Of Animation, With A Keen Eye For Character Pose And Staging.
Good Knowledge Of Cinematography.
Experience With Maya Camera Sequencer A Plus.
Experience Working With Maya Trax And Blending Animation Clip Data.
A Thorough Knowledge And Understanding Of Basic Artistic Human Anatomy.
A Thorough Knowledge And Understanding Of Basic Human Kinetics.
A Thorough Knowledge And Understanding Of Basic Real World Physics And Their Application For Animation.

Pipeline Technical Director
The Pipeline Technical Director is be responsible for developing and maintaining tools for use on high end visual effects, 2D and 3D animation and other such projects for TV, video games and film.
Pipeline Technical Directors work closely with the other pipeline team members including CG Supervisors, Department Leads, IT and the Head of R&D to provide front line support in the delivery of project. This role is a stand alone role in our London Studio with remote support from the Glasgow team.
Working with Artists, Leads and Heads of Departments to identify production needs
Develop pipeline tools and processes to meet production needs
Ensure tools and processes meet the global pipeline framework
Work with the Head of R&D to design and prioritize production needs
Research new techniques to meet those needs
Recommend improvements to workflows to improve productivity or communication
Design and develop new tools to fit and improve the pipeline
Maintain, debug and update existing pipeline tools and processes
Help manage the software base and Git source code repositories
Perform code reviews and maintain coding standards
Test and debug tools and process to ensure stability and usability
Work with development team and IT team to debug and test hardware and software
Educate artists on how to work with the pipeline
Act as a liaison for communicating technical issues to Production, R&D and IT
Create and update documentation explaining our processes and tools
3 + years in animation or visual effects for film or television
3+ years of experience developing for Maya, Nuke or Houdini is required
Strong experience in Python is required
Excellent communication, troubleshooting and debugging skills
Detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task
Experience in designing and building database systems is a plus
Experience in Django, Flask or web development is a plus
Working knowledge of C++ would be advantageous but if not essential

This Individual Will Be Responsible For Supporting And Implementing Systems Within Our Glasgow, Bristol And London Studios, Ensuring That System Hardware And Software And General Operating Systems Are Functioning As Required, Enabling The Teams To Work Effectively And Efficiently.
Perform Daily System Monitoring, Verifying The Integrity And Availability Of All Hardware, Server Resources, Systems And Key Processes, Reviewing System And Application Logs.
Perform Regular Security Monitoring To Identify Any Possible Intrusions.
Participate In Administration Of Backup Operations.
Perform Regular File Archival And Purge As Necessary.
Create, Change, And Delete User Accounts Per Request.
Support Workstation Management, Imaging, And Configuration.
Ensure Proper Documentation Of Systems And Procedures.
Support Physical Security Systems And Ensure Proper Functioning.
Support In-house Application Configuration And Usage.
Maintain Asset Tracking Systems To Ensure Best Management Of Resources.
Assess, Troubleshoot, And Resolve User Hardware/software Issues
Repair And Recover From Hardware Or Software Failures
Maintain Floating License Servers.
Apply Os And Firmware Patches And Upgrades.
Upgrade And Configure Infrastructure Systems And Software Per As Needed.
Maintain Server Room And Colocation Facility Environmental And Monitoring Equipment.
