Senior Visual Effects (VFX) Artist

Senior VFX Artist is responsible for overseeing as well as creating and implementing the in-game VFX. He/she must collaborate with and lead the VFX team to achieve the Art Directors vision. The Senior VFX Artist is expected to liaison with Design and Programming to ensure correct implementation of the visual FX. They will be expected to help define the VFX pipeline, while pushing the boundaries of real-time VFX.

Candidate Responsibilities:
– Translate 2D concept artwork into VFX.
– Translate written and verbal direction into VFX solutions.
– Work closely with Design and Programming.
– Ensure the VFX meet necessary performance and gameplay expectations.
– Continually refine, simplify and expand the VFX content pipeline.
– Work closely with the Art Manager to ensure tasks are tracked accurately.
– Train Junior VFX Artists and other art talent.
– Rapid prototyping of VFX utilizing varying techniques.

Candidate Requirements
– A degree or diploma in Art or Design from an accredited institution.
– Deep understanding of real time VFX techniques and there pro’s and con’s.
– Ability to create content pipelines with ease of content creation in mind.
– Basic understanding of project management.
– Proven ability to work in photo-real art style.
– Expert in Maya and Photoshop.
– Mel or Python scripting experience.
– Shader authoring experience.
– Expertise in Unreal is a plus.

Candidate Profile
– 5-10 years’ experience in videogame production or equivalent experience.
– Experience creating content pipelines.
– Comfortably works with Design and Programming disciplines.
– Wants to push real-time VFX work to the next level. Thinks outside of the box.

SENIOR LEVEL DESIGNER

Our team is looking for a talented Senior Level Designer with extensive experience in developing top-quality games. Duties include creating interesting and dynamic levels & mechanics, being an evangelist for Level Design and participating in level design meetings. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in level design, outstanding people and leadership skills, and have the ability to create a vision for levels and help drive them to completion.

Candidate Responsibilities:
– Own the overall gameplay execution in the assigned levels, and be able to work collaboratively with art, animation, audio, engineering, and design to create memorable experiences.
– Lead and mentor other level designers, inspiring them to greatness.
– Drive the process by which the assigned levels will be executed. Take the initiative to bring parties together to execute on the vision for the levels.
– Work with the Level Design Lead, develop and manage the overall beat chart by which the front-to-back game experience is crafted.
– Prototype, conceptualize, build, script, and tune levels for the game.
– Invent and integrate great events and gameplay mechanics, with the goal of making every moment special and memorable.
– Help finalize the game mechanics by white-boxing and prototyping environments in which those mechanics will be used.

Candidate Requirements:
– Must have 6-8+ years of experience in video games. 1-3+ years’ experience in a leadership capacity is a huge plus.
– Extensive experience with 3D level design tools (UnrealEd, Kismet, Maya, Max, Hammer, Radiant or similar 3D editor).
– Extensive experience hands-on developing single-player levels and multiplayer levels for a first-person-shooter or third-person-game. Experience in preparing level sections with unique gameplay moments, puzzles or platforming a big plus!
– Driven to make fantastic levels with great flow and layout, to tell a story while guiding the player experience.
– Previous experience and interest with a gameplay scripting language or high level programming language. Some artistic background, formal or otherwise, 2D or 3D, is a plus.
– Thorough knowledge of the game development process
– Works well under deadlines and has strong verbal and written communication skills.
