Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled 3D FX artist to work on our StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm universes. The ideal 3D FX artist candidate is able to conceptualize and create natural, sci-fi and fantastical effects, all for real-time use. From crazy arcane fireballs to insane plasma beams, this person must be driven to create compelling effects and achieve the awesome quality and flavor Blizzard Entertainment games are known for.


Experience developing particle systems and geometry based visual effects
Strong Photoshop skills for creating effect textures for use with particle systems / animated geometry
Self-driven, passionate, creative problem solver, and a great team first attitude
A passion for video games
Understanding of Blizzard Entertainment’s visual style, and the desire to push it to the next level


Modeling and texturing experience for props, and / or characters is a big plus
Strong working knowledge of 3ds Max, or equivalent 3D programs
Animation experience
Previously shipped a AAA PC, or console title
Experience with the creation of next-gen shaders, and materials
Experience with MaxScript, or Mel


Demo Reel demonstrating excellent 3D animation skills

Post Production Coordinator

Irvine – California , United States

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a highly motivated post-production coordinator to join the editorial team within the Cinematics department. This person would assist the Cinematics editorial staff by seeking out important information from various source, maintaining change lists, keeping track of footage deliveries, distribution of pertinent information, managing editors’ time, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met on each production.


Supports Cinematics editorial staff in maintaining schedules for each show, works with show producers to create schedules in both a long-view and hourly context.
Tracks footage delivery deadlines; Alerts editors and assistant editors of deliveries received.
Responsible for change lists from each step in the animation pipeline, relaying information to the editorial staff.
Responsible for audio notes, ADR requests and deadlines to the sound department, ensuring on time delivery.
Attends VO recording sessions to gather relevant data and facilitate communication with sound.
Delivers movie files for internal and external review; tracking all notes that arise from these reviews.
Attends dailies for all shows whenever possible, and acts as representative of editorial. Takes thorough notes and ensures they are distributed to all appropriate production staff.
Works closely with show producers and all production department managers (PDMs) to ensure that predetermined animation stages are delivered to editorial as scheduled.
Works with show producers to create appropriate workflows and tasks that accurately reflect the editorial process in our project tracking software.
Works with show producers to create initial project tracking software information for each show and updates throughout production.
Pro-actively seeks out latest footage and changes and creates review sessions in editorial to help directors make decisions in context.
Establishes more granular milestones for editors and facilitates both editors and footage-generating departments to gather assets needed to hit those milestones.
Remains in constant contact with all producers and PDMs to uncover any communication gaps or resolve any confusion.
Create show bids for editorial work and determine what resources (if any) need to be borrowed from video and post production or from out of house.
Assists with ad hoc projects.


BA / BS preferred, or a minimum of 2 years’ post-production experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Project
Knowledge of FileMaker Pro, ShotGun, Flix essential
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional time management skills; excellent multi-tasker and able to work well in a high-pressure environment
