Lead Software Engineer

MAC TEAM

Office: Irvine, California, United States

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an accomplished, enthusiastic, and highly skilled lead software engineer to manage a team of engineers in the porting of games for the Apple Mac OS X platform. This position will encompass work across multiple titles, including World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and future titles.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers working on a variety of different projects.
Collaborate with Windows development teams and other technical leads.
Evaluate performance and manage activities of engineers on the team.
Support debugging, tuning, porting, and maintaining multiple products on Mac OS X.
Develop technical solutions for challenges faced in porting, including custom tools.

Requirements

Mastery of C / C++, debugging, and code optimization
Experience using Objective-C and Cocoa APIs on Mac OS X
Knowledge of OpenGL graphics APIs
Desire to mentor other engineers
Excellent spoken and written communications skills
Passion for creating great Mac software
Strong passion for Blizzard franchises

Pluses

Experience porting and optimizing Win32 game software for Mac OS X
Experience shipping commercial or shareware game titles
Management of other engineers or technical teams

Technical Artist

HEROES OF THE STORM

Office: Irvine, California, United States

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a technical artist to work on the newest installment of our award-winning real-time strategy (RTS) game, StarCraft II and the all new action game Heroes of the Storm. The focus will be on bringing our game characters and models to a finished state from both a technical and performance perspective. Responsibilities include rigging, performance optimizations, and general bug-fixing of in-game assets. The ideal candidate has thorough knowledge of 3ds Max with an interest in, and technical understanding of, optimizing 3D models, animations, and shaders.

Requirements

Knowledge of rigging in 3D content creation software, such as 3ds Max, Maya, or XSI
Strong technical background and a positive attitude
Detail-oriented and efficient
High self-motivation and initiative
Able to communicate and coordinate between internal teams
A desire for helping others and to improve art content pipeline

Pluses

Working knowledge of 3ds Max
Understanding of GPU shaders
Knowledge of MaxScript or Python
Modeling and animation skills in 3D content creation software
Documentation writing for art pipeline
Previous game production experience
Knowledge of the StarCraft game series
