Graphic Designer Intern

MARKETING

The graphic design Intern will operate within the marketing department, where she / he will work with the creative marketing manager to create graphics for use in print ads, packaging, flyers, POS, and event banners. Specific responsibilities may involve any of the following: designing print ads, creating signage for our events, adapting existing designs to work in various formats, photo manipulation, and production.
This is a high-level internship for a student entering into their final year, or a recent grad. It’s a full time internship for a period of 3 to 6 months.

Responsibilities

Create new designs for marketing materials, POS, and events.
Edit existing materials.
Assist creative marketing manager with creating campaign materials.
Work with various vendors for production of printed materials.
Work closely with the in-house teams in marketing, business development, and event operations.
Ad hoc marketing projects.

Requirements

Degree, or working towards a degree in graphic design (BTS, DSSA, Master.)
Proficient in CS5; Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign (MAC platform)
Good understanding of the print production process
Knowledge of image formats and printed media
Organization, attention to detail, problem solving, time-management skills
Strong conceptual skills, sophisticated design sensibilities, creative typographic solutions
Able to offer a variety of design options
Efficient and flexible, and should work well with others in a fast-paced environment
Passion for games, movies, graphic novels, science fiction, and other elements of pop culture
Fluent in English

Internal Events Coordinator

EVENTS

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and self-motivated person to help create and coordinate internal events for our offices in Irvine, CA. The internal events coordinator will report to the global internal events manager and work with other members of the events team to help plan, organize, and execute events. Other responsibilities include assisting with employee service award orders, writing event announcements and news posts on the company’s intranet, and various administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate for this position is familiar with Blizzard Entertainment games and experienced at planning and executing small and large scale events. This person must have a knack for problem-solving and be a creative thinker. They must also be able to work well in a team environment. Essential attributes include excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to multitask and remain focused in high-pressure situations. This person dives into the details while always keeping the big picture in mind. In addition, the internal events coordinator must be highly self-motivated, have a positive attitude and be resourceful, and enthusiastic about coordinating events. And, if they’re someone who likes video games, fantasy, sci-fi, graphic novels, technology or other geeky things, they have a great advantage!

Responsibilities

Organizes internal events for the employees in Irvine under the direction of the global internal events manager.
Creates and manages project plans, milestones, and task lists for internal events.
Communicates proactively regarding upcoming events ensuring all related parties receive adequate time for planning.
Coordinates employee service awards including name solicitation, communication and distribution.
Tracks event team contracts as well as assists with vendor contract execution and payment tracking.
Facilitates trade show registration for employees including communications to teams, group registration, and payment to show organizers.
Assists with budget management including budget spreadsheets and post-event reconciliation.
Takes meeting minutes and distributes to respective attendees.
Performs on-site tasks as assigned by event leads.
Gathers employee feedback through surveys to help improve future events and propose new ways to celebrate our company’s culture.
Feeds and updates internal Intranet site regularly for company events.
Unpacks, packs, and manages inventory of stored event items.
Keeps an up-to-date database of vendors.
Performs administrative tasks as needed by senior director global events and support external events team as needed.
Other related duties as required.

STARCRAFT II

The StarCraft II and Heroes of the storm team are looking for a highly organized producer with demonstrated project management skills to help our business operations organization.

Responsibilities

Gather and document business requirements for biz ops projects, including marketing, risk, customer service (CS), legal, regional, etc.
Partner with engineering production to make sure that business priorities are met
Ensure biz ops projects are on track, prioritizations are adhered to, issues are challenged / discussed, and approvals are obtained from relevant teams.
Maintain business requirements / priorities list for the team; Ensure it is accurate in all locations and with all teams; Make sure all teams are aware (ensure communication, no lack of gaps, etc.)
Represent Biz Ops in StarCraft II and Heroes of the storm team production meetings; Represent StarCraft II and Heroes of the storm team Biz Ops in Battle.net kick-offs and meetings; Advocate for business priorities (currently StarCraft II and Heroes of the storm team business not represented in all meetings).
Work with PMT, risk, CS, business intelligence, legal, quality assurance (QA), live production, and regions in gathering requirements, scheduling, and follow-through of upcoming releases that include monetization changes / updates.
Coordinate with QA, live production, PMT, and community regarding all sales and price changes (Improve overall process).
Organize key learnings and manage team knowledge database (ppts, reports, market research)

Requirements

Able to build sufficient relationships with internal teams to move projects along
Technically capable and be able to clearly convey concise requirements to engineers and understand technical concepts such as licenses, etc.
Able to carry a project from start to end with minimum supervision
Have some understanding of business to enable the candidate to make appropriate decisions when needed

Responsibilities

Design / create / localize graphical online media assets such as ad banners, email templates, posters, etc. to support online campaigns and marketing operations.
