The video and post-production team within Cinematics is looking for a dedicated video editor to focus on marketing materials and special projects both for Starcraft II and Blizzard’s upcoming Heroes of the Storm. This person must have strong professional editorial experience and outstanding communication skills. He / she must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.

This person will be responsible for performing the functions of a video editor for a wide range of various projects, working with a mix of game capture, motion graphics, music, and sound effects—all with a high degree of responsibility. This person must be versatile and able to use temp imagery, temp music, temp dialogue, and temp SFX, as well as editing music to create works that excite, inform, and still tell story. This editor will be heavily involved in creating marketing content for internet release and should have experience editing short-form commercials, trailers, and sizzle reels.

He / she must be able to operate with varying degrees of supervision, taking ownership when needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and iteration. They must also be able to update and organize footage, generate reviewable files, and handle final deliveries of necessary formats without the aid of an assistant editor.

Requirements
A minimum of 5 years’ professional Editorial experience
Deep knowledge of non-linear editing software (Avid MC or FCP7), with at least some experience in Adobe Premiere Pro
Strong ability to edit music to maximize impact
Good sense of timing, pacing, and controlling story flow through editing
Knowledge of advanced video compression techniques and associated software packages
Experience interfacing with other departments (e.g. Sound, Game Teams, etc.)
Knowledge of current post-production industry-standard workflows and organization
Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills
Able to work well under tight deadlines and quick project turnover
Able to work closely with directors, producers, and with other team members
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

Pluses
Capturing game footage with an eye for cinematography
Compositing and 2D effects (Adobe After Effects)
Knowledge of Blizzard’s game worlds and the stories told within them
Demonstrated expertise working in Short Form media and visual storytelling (Trailers, Shorts, Etc.)
Color Correction / 2D Lighting (After Effects)
Animation, 3D Title Creation, Storyboarding, or other related skill

Art Outsource Supervisor

UNANNOUNCED GAME TITLE
Office: Irvine, California, United States

Blizzard is looking for highly motivated and talented artists to join its embedded outsourcing team in Irvine California. This is an art generalist position requiring hands on direction, management, and engine integration of a wide range of assets including characters, weapons, and environment props.

The ideal candidate would have strong art direction and leadership skills to be able to manage, art direct, and provide detailed feedback to external art vendors. They must also be an experienced and flexible artist, able to put final touches on any game asset from characters to props, then be able implement those assets into a wide range of game engines. Finally they would coordinate with team leads to build relationships, track assets, and help identify art needs.

Responsibilities
Manage communication and provide feedback to artists, and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams.
Generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors.
Own the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to the vendor in order to deliver quality assets to the development team.
Implement approved assets into the game engine, along with making any needed fixes to keep assets consistent and game ready.
Personally create high quality character models, weapons, and environment assets for a variety of different projects and art styles
Work closely with the art director, art leads, production team, and outsource manager to determine outsourcing needs, pipelines, budgets and costs for art assets.
Coordinate with the outsource manager to schedule and track incoming assets.
Identify and research possible vendors.
Travel may be necessary to help train and coach approved vendors.

Requirements
Experience in game art asset creation in a variety of software packages including Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, and Photoshop
Strong character, weapon, and environment modeling experience and skills a must
Clear and concise communication, leadership, and people skills
Must be highly organized, self-driven, customer focused, and a great team player
Understanding of the visual style of Blizzard games and a passion to push it to the next level
Have shipped AAA PC or console title as an environment, character, or technical artist

Pluses
Experience working with outsourcing teams
Experience in an art director or lead artist role
Fluency in a language other than English, including Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, or Russian
