This is a dual HR and office administrative role in a busy, creative office working closely with the Head of Operations and the Managing Director.
The HR and Office Manager is responsible for advising on and implementing policies, resourcing, management and development of employees, ensuring the smooth running of the office, front of house, office purchasing, security and PR.
The ideal candidate would have previous has experience in a VFX facility to understand all the roles and workings of our industry.
The role 70% – HR officer
Policies and Procedures – advise on BlueBolt company and HR policies with the aid of an HR consultant. Communicate relevant changes to all employees. Ensure policies reflect current employment law and good practice guidance. Be available to and provide professional advise for all staff on HR policies and processes.
People management – with the aid of a HR consultant advise on employee relations matters, for example disciplinary, grievance, capability and work with managers to resolve issues.
Personal development – prepare & conduct staff annual reviews & probation periods, arranging and tracking feedback with the relevant HOD’s for each staff member. Where required, prepare annual training plan based on annual reviews. Do exit interviews where necessary.
Administer & continue to build our new HR platform – Appogee HR & Leave Management.
Co-ordinate company recruitment, carry out appropriate pre employment checks, and interview candidates with HOD’s. Co-ordinate visa applications where required. Arrange and carry out induction of all new staff.
Take an active role in resource management, working with Producers to establish staffing needs
Work closely with our Accountant & MD to ensure payroll is correct each month and weekly freelance invoices are settled.
Be prepared to attend events and talk on panels about HR for the company if required
The role 30% – Office Manager
Help hire, train & manage junior office staff and oversee their daily duties
Oversee personal expenses & petty cash with office junior
Maintain a pleasant & functional office space (be pro-active and on the look-out for improvements, breakages, etc)
Complete First Aid and Fire Warden training
Contribute to and ensure the team keeps website & social media up to date. Take the lead being pro-active researching news, building the company brand & followers
Coordinate promotional interviews & provide suitable promo images
Project manage upcoming award submissions
Organise office parties/events, office tours
Educated to degree level and holding an additional HR Qualification, at either degree or diploma level or have a proven track record in this type of area and industry.
Approachable, knowledgeable manager with minimum 2 years experience in an HR role.
Comfortable with day-to-day HR practices and able to help implement & improve existing operations.
Excellent written & verbal skills
Excellent administration skills – able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, independent and a people person.
Enthusiastic, not precious about playing a key role in the successful running of the company. A sense of humour essential.
Interest in film/TV production or VFX more specifically would be a bonus; you will learn the detail of hiring and maintaining a staff of creative & technical talent.
