Senior Graphics Engineer

We are looking for a SENIOR GRAPHICS ENGINEER with an interest in cutting-edge graphics and visual effects systems join our team on a full time basis developing AAA titles for latest-gen home consoles.

Responsibilities

High- and low-level optimization of rendering code for console platforms
Development and maintenance of content generation and content optimization pipelines
Research into new real-time rendering techniques and features
Collaboration with other team members to determine rendering requirements
Implementation of rendering features to the Bluepoint Engine

Requirements

Expert knowledge of C++
Strong knowledge of HLSL/CG
Excellent understanding of fundamentals behind low-level graphics engine development
Ability to optimize own and others’ code
Ability to manage oneself
Must have shipped at least one well-reviewed title on PS3 and/or Xbox 360 as a graphics engineer
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

Senior General Engineer

Requirements

Know the rules, know why they exist and when (and when not) to break them
Fluency in more computing languages than human languages
Ability to wring the last drop of performance out of any CPU, GPU, or SPU
Have shipped more games than you have owned cars
Know that “writing” the multithreaded code is the easy part
Avoid unnecessary use of inheritance, templates, and operator overloading
Rarely, if ever, break the build
Can write 50 lines of code and it compiles the first time (and very nearly works, too)
Have a fairly accurate sense as to when a debugger is lying to you
Believe that data is just code too
Have messed with so much different code, you can only consider yourself a “generalist”
Are that go-to person other programmers come to with their questions

Senior Technical Artist

Bluepoint Games is looking for a SENIOR TECHNICAL ARTIST to join our team on a full time basis. Tackle the most complex asset challenges and join us in developing a world-class workflow to unleash the potential of our art team in developing AAA titles for latest-gen home consoles.

Please note: This is not an entry level position.

Responsibilities

– Develop powerful and efficient workflows for the Art team
– Create new techniques and procedures to improve game asset quality
– Help improve and refine shader, texture, lighting quality
– Research and help develop new technologies
– Identify and fix pipeline issues
– Analyze and help correct art asset inefficiencies affecting console performance
– Mentor and support the Art team
– Act as a liaison between Engineering and the Art departments
– Assist with problem solving daily production issues

Requirements

– Complete understanding of game workflows and pipelines
– Experience working with multiple game engines
– Expert knowledge of Maya
– Maya scripting experience in Python and MEL
– Basic knowledge of Photoshop scripting techniques
– At least 5 years of professional experience in the games industry with at least one shipped title (excluding academic projects)
– A portfolio reflecting high-quality game art, scripted tools, and shaders
– The ability to work onsite at our facility in Austin, TX

Preferences

– Experience with Allegorithmic Substance Designer
– Shader authoring skills (HLSL, GLSL, CGFX) knowledge
– C++, C#, Javascript, or other programming knowledge

Look Dev Technical Artist

Bluepoint Games is looking for a LOOK DEV ARTIST to join our team on a full time basis and help drive our unwavering pursuit of industry leading visual quality. You’ll contribute to the AAA titles we currently have in development as well as help set a vision of what is possible for our future titles.

Responsibilities

– Conceive visual targets for our games. Dream, then make it happen on screen
– Drive Art Direction through creation of 3D concept prototypes using any means necessary
– Solve visual challenges that occur during production, then work with the Rendering and Art teams to translate the visual solutions into implementable techniques
– Create particle effects that make Hollywood jealous
– Mentor the Art team to achieve the visual goals in game via the development tools
– Research and implement cutting edge visuals, technologies, and techniques
– Develop procedures to improve game asset quality
– Help define shader, texture, and lighting quality
– Define and tune screen space effects for highest quality visual results in our shipped title

Requirements

– Complete understanding of game workflows and pipelines
– Experience working with multiple game engines
– Expert knowledge of Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop
– Competent knowledge of Max, Houdini, or other 3D applications
– Shader writing knowledge
– At least 5 years of experience in the games industry
– Strong communication skills
– A portfolio reflecting high-quality game art
– Able to work onsite at our facility in Austin, TX

Preferences

– Experience with Allegorithmic Substance Designer
– Maya scripting experience in Python and MEL
– C++, C#, Javascript, or other programming knowledge
