Storyboard Supervisor

Brown Bag Films are looking to recruit the position of Storyboard Supervisor.

Job Description:

• Work closely with Supervising Director to implement the objectives of the storyboard.
• Create comprehensive script notes for storyboard hand outs for remote artists.
• Supervise breakdowns and reference gathering for storyboard packages.
• Review and do revisions for Storyboards during animatic process.
• Have understanding of CGI production and best use of 3d space and camera.
• Work closely with creative supervisors to manage complexities of production.
• Ensure quality and style of show is consistently achieved in storyboard work
• Meet all deadlines as determined by the Producer or Production Manager

Requirements:

• Must have strong drawing skills
• CGI boarding experience a plus
• Must be able to work digitally
• Clear communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Must be very detailed oriented and organised
• Must passionate about character animation and acting
• Will be required to do hands-on digital revisions

Start Date: July 2013

Rigger

Brown Bag Films are looking to recruit the position of Junior Character Rigger.

Job Description:

• Design, create, test and maintain character set ups.
• Cooperate with the modeling dept. to create a model that meets technical needs.
• Collaborate with animators to design motion controls.
• Create secondary dynamics systems.
• Knowledge of Python preferred.
• Work with production management to prioritize tasks
• Troubleshooting problems with animated rigs

Requirements:

• In depth knowledge of Maya
• Good weight painting skills.
• Good communication skills, along with a strong team orientation.
• Minimum two years experience using Maya in a professional setting.

Start Date: June 2013

Modeller

Brown Bag Films are looking to employ the role of a temporary Modeller on a six week contract .

Job Description Detail

• Creation of 3D models
• The modeller will need to work very closely with the texture painters and rigging team to generate models that are suitable for the project.
• They will also have to work closely with the lead Modeller to determine the best approach (detail level etc) on any given model.
• Create Efficient/optimal UV layout

Requirements:
• A very keen eye for detail.
• A full working knowledge of modelling in any one or more of these packages: Maya (essential) and 3DS Max (a plus)
• Ability to work with packages such as Mudbox or Z-brush are an advantage.
• 2 Years experience (In similar role) required

Start Date: 1 August 2013

Lighting TD

Brown Bag Films are looking to employ the role of Lighting Technical Director

Job Description:

The position of Lighting Technical Director requires someone with a thorough knowledge of 3D Computer Graphics, with several years of experience in a similar role working on broadcast or film projects.
Successful applicants will have a well developed ‘eye’, a good working knowledge of art, design and film lighting as well as a solid technical grounding in render software (e.g. Renderman or Mental Ray) they will make recommendations for tools and pipeline changes as required, including suggestions for R&D tasks.
Some experience in Look Development and shader setup would be an advantage.

Requirements:

• Must have a good “eye”, and a good understanding of light, colour, contrast, shading, and lighting design.
• Must have a good working knowledge of lighting in Maya and/or 3D Studio Max.
• Must have a good knowledge of a compositing program such as Nuke or Digital Fusion.
• Must have a good knowledge of MentalRay and or Renderman.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks in a fast paced production environment.
• Must be open to direction.
• Knowledge of Mel and/or Python a big plus.
• Should have experience in development and maintenance of lighting/compositing pipelines
• Experience – As noted above.

Episodic Director

Brown Bag Films are looking to recruit the position of Episodic Director.

Job Description:

Partnering with the Supervising Director, the Episodic Director participates in all creative aspects and in all phases of the production to achieve the overall completion of a CG Episodic TV show.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in CG animation for game cinematics, TV, or film.
• Prior directorial experience preferred.
• Strong, proven skills in storyboarding, animation camera composition, storytelling and animation timing required.
• Working knowledge of CG animation and post production techniques and terminology required.
• Bachelor’s degree in film, art or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills. Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal). Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of production crew, artistic staff and management.
• Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a high pressure environment while meeting strict TV deadlines.
• Traditional portfolio and reel demonstrating drawing skills and work experience required.

Production Co-ordinator

The duties to be performed by the Employee shall include all duties customarily performed in the Role including without limitation:

• Work with the Production Manager and the Supervising Technical and Creative Team to ensure an efficient and fast flow of information across the departments
• Follow up with the artists to ensure they understand their assignments and report back to Manager & TD
• Maintain tracking documents and keep asset database up to date with all necessary information
• Accurate notes taking and follow through on action points
• Responsible for the sending and receipt of materials to and from the client and from freelancers
• Follow up with freelancers on delivery deadlines
• Create Modelsheets and prepare visuals
• And any other tasks deemed necessary by your manager
