Senior 3d Artist

Job Description
CCP is looking to add a strong industry experienced 3d Artist to strengthen its team in the Newcastle Studio. The Studio is currently working on EVE Valkyrie which is a fast paced space dogfighting shooter enhanced through the use of VR hardware and is entering new territory for mainline game development. For this exciting and ground-breaking project we require a confident and talented individual to take on responsibility for a wide range of 3d assets that are to be experienced through the extra dimension of VR, creating a world around a user, not just on a flat screen in front of them. The perfect candidate will need good communication skills to work efficiently within a small team following Technical and Artistic guidelines. They need good time-management and organization skills to keep all areas of the game moving forward supplying assets through from placeholder to final standard, and the flexibility to adapt priorities to changing requirements within the team. They must have personal drive and passion to produce AAA standard work and constantly seek new ways of pushing the boundaries. They will be working within a small, talented group of seasoned professionals and require the ability to work closely with Engineers, Artists and Designers alike to produce a variety of game assets to the highest visual standards

Responsibilities Include: Main areas of responsibility will include but not limited to-

3d asset creation including
Hi-Res hero objects
Hi-Res model to normal map generation
Texture creation
Model optimisations
Vehicle creation
Character creation
Collision creation and set-up
Importing and maintaining assets in the game editor
Level placement
General lighting

Experience / Skills Required:

History of prolific High standard model creation along with supporting texturing/mapping techniques
High quality texture map creation skills
Industry standard software usage/experience with a variety of packages such as-
Photoshop
Max/Maya
Mudbox/Zbrush
Knowledge and experience of material creation/set-up
Ability to create AAA standard quality Game assets working within visual guidelines defined by art direction and within performance guidelines
5 years+ experience of working on AAA console and/or pc titles in a game art role
Two or more shipped titles for console and/or pc

Advantageous Skills:

Experience of working with art outsourcing
In-Game lighting experience
Animation/rigging experience
Familiar with agile scrum methodologies
The candidate will need to show a broad range of skills in their portfolio with examples of high quality modelling and texturing as well as final in-game examples

For this exciting and ground-breaking project we require a confident and talented individual with a broad range of skills to be able to cover all potential aspects of VFX within game production and be self-sufficient in the creation of them. The perfect candidate will need good communication skills to work efficiently within a small team following Technical and Artistic guidelines. They need good time-management and organization skills to keep all areas of the VFX moving forward through from placeholder to final standard, and the flexibility to adapt priorities to changing requirements within the team. They will be working within a small, talented group of seasoned professionals and require the ability to work closely with Engineers, Artists and Designers alike to design/produce VFX the highest Visual standards

Responsible for all VFX including-
Explosions
Weapon VFX
Environment VFX such as lighting/solar flares, gas clouds
HUD FX
Both 2d and 3d capabilities to be self-sufficient in providing assets needed to fulfil any VFX needs
Hitting visual quality whilst within performance constraints

Experience / Skills Required:

Industry standard software experience with a variety of packages such as-
Photoshop
Max/Maya
Ability to create AAA standard quality VFX working within visual guidelines defined by art direction and within performance guidelines
Minimum 2 years+ experience of working on AAA console and/or pc titles in a VFX role
One or more shipped titles for console and/or pc

Advantageous Skills:

Lighting experience
Motion Picture standard VFX
Familiar with agile scrum methodologies
The candidate will need to provide a show reel with examples of work which should cover as wide a range and variety of VFX skills as possible. Please provide a breakdown of the work in the show reel that you were directly responsible for

For this exciting and ground-breaking project we require a confident and talented individual to take on responsibility for all the User Interface and Frontend requirements. The perfect candidate will need good communication skills to work efficiently within a small team following Technical and Artistic guidelines. They need good time-management and organization skills to keep all areas of the UI moving forward through from placeholder to final standard, and the flexibility to adapt priorities to changing requirements within the team. They must have personal drive and passion to produce AAA standard work and constantly seek new ways of pushing the boundaries in what will be a pioneering role in the area of UI systems within VR environments. They will be working within a small, talented group of seasoned professionals and require the ability to work closely with Engineers, Artists and Designers alike to design/produce UI graphics and assets to the highest Visual standards

Responsibilities include: Main areas of responsibility will include but not limited to-

Primary responsibly is for the HUD systems, menus and frontend
Working closely with engineers to implement UI
Provide design support to the development team
Communicate and provide visualisations to a variety of audiences
Marketing support with graphics and website design

Experience / Skills Required

2d and 3d software experience including
Photoshop
Motion Graphics/flash experience
Minimum 4 years+ experience of working on AAA console and/or pc titles in a UI role
Two or more shipped titles for console and/or pc
Good knowledge and understanding of current UI solutions

Advantageous Skills:

Experience of other game development areas
Maya/Max
Video FX
Familiar with agile scrum methodologies
Interest in Virtual Reality for games

The candidate will be required to provide supporting samples of previous work including any supporting design iteration work along with final in-game examples
