Lead Graphic Artist

Description

Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a Lead Graphic Artist to come join us in our Los Angeles studio!

Responsibilities:

• Support web and social publishing (YouTube key-frames, one-off imagery).
• Create mind-blowing keynote presentations for Chris Roberts and the Star Citizen team.
• Define unified graphic design style for web and video marketing.
• Create motion graphics for marketing and video production purposes
• Work with gameplay capture artists to create marketing content
• Assist in the design/layout of PDF booklets, including game manuals, monthly Jump Point magazines and in-fiction ship brochures.
• Skillfully create clean, detail-oriented layouts for electronic communications, client presentations, invitations, corporate identity pieces, signage, hangtags, packaging, advertising, catalogs and various other marketing materials following defined branding.
• Communicate clearly with domestic and international partners to assist in managing graphic production of marketing and promotional materials.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and expectations.
• Communicate project progression to appropriate parties.
• Maintain cutting edge technical knowledge.

Requirements:

• Background in Advertising.
• Experience developing elegant and compelling designs for websites, magazines, and corporate marketing campaigns.
• Unparalleled art and graphic design skills.
• Skilled in presentation layouts (PowerPoint, Prezi).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and a self-starter.
• Expertise with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D and other professional-level graphics software suites.

Pluses:

• Experience working with CryEngine.
• Passion for science-fiction, video games, and space simulations.

Marketing Poduction Coordinator

Description

Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a Marketing Production Coordinator for our record-breaking crowd-funded game Star Citizen!

Responsibilities:

• Support the Marketing Director on the coordination and execution of all marketing initiatives.
• Work with both internal and external resources to prepare and finalize promotional materials and assets.
• Provide copywriting support and proofreading skills on various marketing materials and initiatives, across a broad range of mediums, including print, video, web, and interactive digital content.
• Assist in the development of web and email promotional campaigns.
• Support trade show display and promotional material development. Attend remote events and provide staff-level support.
• Prepare regular marketing reports and maintain the marketing calendar.
• Develop informative and compelling video presentations for a variety of events.
• Serve as a point-of-contact for the web team in regards to all updates, including promotional items, videos, images, press releases, etc.
• Liaise with global development teams to ensure that all marketing initiatives and requirements are broadly communicated and appropriately scheduled. Follow up and track progress, and communicate any risks and issues.
• Shoot and assist in editing GVP videos
• Liaise with outside agencies, third-party vendors, and strategic partners. Coordinate communication regarding deliverables, deadlines, and any special information as it relates to marketing materials and programs.

Requirements:

• Must be able to handle all aspects of marketing (hands on)

Senior Level Designer

Description

Foundry 42 UK, is looking for a talented Senior Level Designer to work with the Design Director, Lead Level Designer and Systems Designers on crafting unique and fun gameplay and story experiences for Star Citizen.

Responsibility:

Design and develop new levels for Squadron 42 and the FPS module under the direction of the Lead Level Designer and Game Director.
Designing and creating fun, exciting, sandbox gameplay environments from paper designs/concepts to final quality using given tools of the engine.
Be a leader within the department for cleanly implementing content with our designer tools and scripting language.
Working close with the Lead Level Designer, Design Director, and the design team to craft new gameplay experiences for environmental playgrounds and AI encounters.
Use expert data analysis skills to plot how the game is being used. Draw conclusions and make recommendations for how to improve the experience.
Routinely collect feedback from user-testing, the development team and design management.
Working close with Environment Art to ensure a perfect balance between gameplay setup and visual direction.
Working close with narrative design to ensure the story is carried well throughout the level.
Contribute to design discussions and help solving complex design challenges within the games’ setting.
Contribute to Tools and workflow development, highlighting bottlenecks or suggesting areas where tools could improve workflow.

Requirements:

4+ years of professional game production experience – in a Level Designer capacity.
Previous experience creating high quality Levels for AAA games.
Thorough knowledge of the game development process.
Shipped (from pre-production to release) 1-2+ large scale, 3D title (PC, current/next-gen consoles).
Experience with next generation AAA game engines.
Excellent sense for design and creating outstanding user experiences.
Focused, motivated and effective on all tasks through completion.
Keep a positive team-oriented attitude.
Be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision.
Ability to complete tasks within given time constraints.
Excellent English communication and written skills.

Pluses:

Knowledge with CryENGINE, especially the Sandbox toolset.
FPS Experience.
Strong interest in science fiction based themes.

Cinematographer

Description

Foundry 42 Ltd are looking for a talented Cinematographer to join our Marketing and community team.

Responsibilities:

• Create game trailers, TV commercials, and other marketing and production-based materials.
• Edit high-end marketing materials in both a supervised and unsupervised capacity.
• Initiate concepts and work within a team to develop the best assets possible.
• Take responsibility for projects and self-produce/direct when necessary, or alternatively work closely with a director to realize a specific vision.
• Conceptualize projects from beginning to end in a well-organized manner
• Make executive decisions in collaboration with the Marketing Director for lighting, camera and lens selection, and equipment for all on set video productions.
• Compose and frame each shot, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings.
• Operate multiple camera accessory and support platforms such as tripods, jibs, steadicams, dollies, lights etc.
• Collaborate with creative team on the visualization of scenes.
• Select best camera, lens and accessories package to meet desired creative result.
• Observe set or location to determine lighting requirements for scenes.
• Instruct camera operators regarding camera setup, angles, distances, movement, depth of field, and focus.
• Oversee color grading of final images.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as cinematographer or director of photography
• Fluency in Adobe Premiere interface.
• Experience working under tight deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure is required
• Keen interest and knowledge of video games.
• People skills and ability to work as part of a team are of utmost importance.
• Ability to take direction when required, while also working autonomously to self-direct and take ownership of a project where necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cameras and camera equipment, both still and motion.
• Current on latest filming techniques and equipment knowing when to use new technology instead of the old.
• Flexible problem solver when production doesn’t go as planned due to weather, equipment problems, budget or creative changes.
• Absorb creative direction while bringing unique ideas to each project.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with a variety of technical teams, as well as editors, gameplay capture artists, and others to drive gameplay video projects through post-production to achieve unparalleled industry results
• Take ownership of the defined creative vision and shape content from pre-production to delivery
• Evaluate our content, presenting new ways to improve our technical and editorial chops
• Collaborate with other teams to improve existing videos new content
• Creating high quality 3rd person and 1st person animations using motion capture data and/or key framing.
• Creating high quality 1st person weapon animations.
• Follow group standards and best practices.
• Participate in a multi-discipline development team.
• Collaborate effectively with other disciplines including art, design, engineering, and audio.
• Manage day-to-day development issues; identify problems and drive creative solutions to fix them.
• Prepare for and attend motion capture shoots as needed.
• Learning the technical skills to assemble highly complex animations to run seamlessly in game.

Requirements:

• Experience with Motion Capture.
• Experience with Motion Builder is a plus.
