Senior Animator

Description

Foundry 42 LTD in UK is looking for a Senior Animator to work with the design team under direction of the Game Director and Animation Director on animation related areas within squadron 42 and the FPS module for Star Citizen.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with Animation Director, Animation Lead and Senior Animators on implementing animations within the game engine
* Create key frame animation as well as working with motion capture data for ingame assests * while following the given style guide.
* Ensure timely completion of animation commitments at the desired quality bar
* Partners with designers, programmers and other departments involved

Requirements:

* 4+ years of professional experiencing in game development – in an Animator capacity
* Shipped (from pre-production to release) 2-3+, large scale, 3D titles (PC, current/next-gen consoles)
* Positive, solution-orientated individual with a passion for game development
* A thorough understanding of animation pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation
* Expert knowledge with Maya and other equivalent software
* Ability to create fluid, smooth, realistic animations with specific demonstration of animation fundamentals
* Experience with next generation AAA game engines

Concept Artist

Description

Foundry 42 is looking for a talented experienced concept artist able to tackle the unique and rich universe of Star Citizen.

You will be working with top internal and external artists and be able to work on the full spectrum of assets ranging from spaceships, spaceship parts, weapons, environments, props, and characters.

Responsibilities:

* This position will require artists to learn and master the visual style and elements of Cloud Imperium Games’s ‘Star Citizen’ project, and be able to conceptualize and illustrate new assets following the guidelines and requirements of the game.

Requirements:

* Have a good understanding of form and function with an eye for Industrial design
Collaborate heavily with the design and production teams while maintaining the Art Directors vision
* Create stunning environmental art that captures the overall filmic quality of the games universe

Level Designer

Description

Foundry 42 Ltd in Manchester, UK is looking for a talented Level Designer to work with the Design Director, Lead Level Designer and Systems Designers on crating unique and fun gameplay and story experiences for Star Citizen.

Responsibilities

* Design and develop new levels for Squadron 42 and the FPS module under the direction of the Lead Level Designer and Game Director.
* Designing and creating fun, exciting, beautiful Sandbox gameplay, environments from paper designs/concepts to final quality, using given tools of the engine
* Working close with the Lead Level Designer, Design Director and the design team to craft new gameplay experiences for environmental playgrounds and AI encounters
* Routinely collect feedback from user-testing, the development team and design management.
* Working closely with Environment Art to ensure a perfect balance between gameplay setup and visual direction
* Working closely with Narrative Design to ensure the story is carried well throughout the level
* Contribute to design discussions and help solving complex design challenges within the games’ settings

VFX Artist

Description

You will be working on the cutting edge of video game development, working closely with our talented art, design and programming teams as you create visual effects for Science Fiction environments, vehicles and weapons.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with other artists, designers and programmers to implement Art Director’s vision.
* Create convincing VFX through all stages of the game development process, from conception to completion.
* Maintain a consistently high visual quality across a wide range of effects, from vast space environments to small weapons – and everything in between.
* Optimize effects to run efficiently in-game whilst maintaining high visual quality.

Lighting Artist

Description

The Lighting Artist will work in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment, possessing solid artistic skills, including a thorough understanding of color theory, composition, light, and form. They should have experience with a 3D CG package, demonstrating a solid understanding of rendering, lighting, shading networks, polygonal modeling, and texture UV’s.

Responsibilities:

• Involved in look-development around key surfaces and shaders to ensure lighting delivers against visual reference
• Creating both the exterior and interior lighting within environments and cut scenes.
• Placing and adjustment of light sources within the environment.
• Tweaking of shading materials and textures to improve the perception of the lighting.
• Post processing; color grading, exposure, SSAO, bloom, tone mapping curves etc.
• Contributing to the development and placement of special effects related to lighting and atmosphere, such as light flares, fog, god rays and camera optics.
• Prototyping the use of lighting technology to reach the visual targets defined by the art direction.

Experience & Skills:

• Deep understanding of CG lighting technology, both real-time and software rendering.
• Strong sense of lighting theory; color space, exposure, light fixtures, natural light, reflections etc.
• Good understanding of cinematography and dramaturgy; the use of camera technology, scene blocking and lighting to set the mood.
• Good understanding and experience with physical based lighting system

Technical Artists are responsible for the correct technical implementation of art content. They should be able to solve any technological issues related to art production. In close cooperation with the Art Production and R&D Groups they should work on improving the existing pipelines and developing new tools for the Art Production Groups.

* Working with the Art Groups and Programmers to effectively produce technically correct art content
* Checking assets in terms of the technical setup for their usage in CryEngine
