Game Support Agent

Description

The Game Support Team at Cloud Imperium Games is a public-facing team responsible for relaying the status of the Live service to players (including downtime schedules, known issues, and publish information), troubleshooting individual and service-wide problems, helping people understand and enjoy the game, developing ways of driving interest and engagement through one-to-many events and communications (such as playtests, chats, and Reddit posts), and turning reports and feedback into solutions and improvements for Star Citizen.
The Game Support Agent will also provide various levels of technical and game problem resolution to the backers and players of Star Citizen by diagnosing and troubleshooting a wide variety of subjects including (but not limited to): Initial installation, patching, and loading the game; account access; assessing game client performance by reviewing players’ hardware and software setups; verifying and entering bugs into tracking software; helping players navigate and learn the website, the launcher, and the game; administering the game environment to keep it safe and secure; and communicating publicly with players on live service issues through email, forums, and various online sites popular with our community.
An additional primary task for this group is to help players maintain the integrity and security of their account by assisting with hacked accounts and tracking down surreptitious activity on the service using a variety of forensics tools and logs.

Example solutions include: installing/uninstalling/reinstalling software applications; verifying proper hardware and software set up; power cycling equipment; assisting with navigating around application menus; testing software bugs; reviewing potentially fraudulent monetary transactions; reviewing game logs to identify service problems. Support is provided in email and on forums and websites, where clearly communicated solutions are provided in a fun, light-hearted, user-friendly manner. Staff will perform related work as required.

Additional tasks will included assisting with fraudulent transactions and chargebacks, as well as all investigating the in-game effects of those actions.

Requirements:

• Extreme passion for video games, science-fiction, and space simulations.
• C / C++ programming skills
• A minimum of 3 years’ game programming experience, with at least one shipped AAA title.
• Mathematics skills, including proficiency with trigonometry and linear algebra.
• Experience in the design and implementation of various game systems, including game object management, gameplay scripting, FX, database management, or online networking.
• Speaks “Designer” fluently.
• Experience with code optimization.
• Comfortable contributing to an established engine.
• Able to work in a collaborative environment with a team of highly skilled programmers.
• Self-motivated and self-directing, knowledgeable about and willing to pitch in on many areas of development.
• High comfort level working within, and analyzing and improving, an established code base.

Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a seasoned and accomplished Marketing Artist for our record-breaking crowd-funded game, Star Citizen!
The Marketing Artist will be responsible for producing designs for in-house marketing initiatives including but not limited to website, book layout, print advertisement, etc. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong design skills, proficiency with 3D application software (e.g., Maya, Max, etc.), and a high-end and modern aesthetic.

Candidate must have 3D render experience.

Responsibilities:

• Create high quality white room product shots for the Roberts Space Industries website.
• Support web and social publishing (YouTube key-frames, one-off imagery).
• Create mind-blowing keynote presentations for Chris Roberts and the Star Citizen team.
• Define unified graphic design style for web and video marketing.
• Create high quality paint-overs for marketing initiatives.
• Work with Star Citizen’s marketing, production and art teams to create awesome content on a tight schedule.
• Assist in the design/layout of PDF booklets, including game manuals, monthly Jump Point magazines and in-fiction ship brochures.
• Skillfully create clean, detail-oriented layouts for electronic communications, client presentations, invitations, corporate identity pieces, signage, hangtags, packaging, advertising, catalogues and various other marketing materials following defined branding.

Cloud Imperium Games is a fast-paced video gaming company on the cutting edge of technology. We release linear content on a daily basis to our growing fan base – everything from behind-the-scenes videos on the creation of the game to Q&A with our developers and other exciting content. This is all hosted on our website, YouTube channel, and livestream as well.
We are looking for an experienced Video Producer to supervise and execute production and delivery for all of our weekly video content. You will own program development, budgets and schedules, plan productions, recruit talent, solve production and post-production problems, and deliver a finished product in appropriate formats on time and on budget. This will require a deep understanding of production of various program types and delivery cadences, and an ability to work with a small internal team leveraging external partners to deliver high quality results.
If you are an experienced, resourceful and versatile production problem solver comfortable with creative notes, production schedules, and making the most of budgets, then join us in defining and growing our video department.

Responsibilities:

* Lead selected projects through all phases of production including creative development, pre-production, production/shooting, post-production, finishing/delivery.
