Cloud Imperium Games is looking for an experienced Producer to join us in our Derby office in the UK.
Would you like to be a part of a team making video game history? The international studio Cloud Imperium Games under the direction of Chris Roberts, creator of Wing Commander, is seeking an accomplished and experienced Producer to join the UK team based at Foundry 42 in Derby, UK.


Serve as a driving force for “Star Citizen” and “Squadron 42”, facilitating communication, organization, and accountability across each department, and reporting to the Senior Producer

Responsible for all animation Production in the Derby office
Driving and taking active involvement in Facial Animation, Tech Animation, Body animation and Mo-cap editing
Own and support Derby Animation pipelines and/or teams to the overall success of the game and drive them to a timely completion
Own and create short, mid and long term schedules for the animation teams in Derby and ensure that goals and deadlines are clearly communicated outward.
Compile and send out regular reports on team progress and accomplishments.
Identify, communicate and resolve any risks that may prevent the team from completing any deadlines to production leadership and team leads
Schedule and attend meetings; set agendas; take concise and comprehensive notes and distribute them to appropriate personnel
Provide guidance and motivation to team members, making sure that goals and deadlines are achieved.
Communicate with all members of production, providing visibility on project status, risks and opportunities.
Work with team leads to develop efficient work methods and pipelines.
Evangelize efficient processes and policies to team leadership.
Provide mentorship with Leads to junior staff on improved practices
Serve as custodian of team health, and foster a culture of success.
Work with Outsourcing teams to ensure we have high quality delivered products achieving company goals


Worked on a full AAA-project life cycle.
Expert with project management development tools (MS Project, JIRA. MS Office, Shotgun, etc.)
Expert in project management methodologies with previous Scrum, Prince2 and/or Kanban experience.
Skilled in risk assessment, management and scheduling.
Unsurpassed verbal and written communication.
Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative
Excellent problem solver and ability to bring order to chaos.
Superb relationship building skills (locally & internationally
Experience dealing with Outsourcing
International travel may be required as part of the role.
Experience working in Animation departments or Animation Production


1-2 years of animation background is desirable

Character Artist


Cloud Imperium Games is looking for a Character Artist with a passion for their craft to help fill a persistent universe with characters and alien life forms.


The ideal candidate should have excellent core modelling and texturing skills and a sound understanding of human anatomy. You will be part of the process to grow the internal team, work with technical and other character artists to implement a developing character pipeline.


• Creating highpoly and lowpoly models of characters following concept art or art direction for in-game and cinematic usage with nominal direction from Senior and/or Lead Artists.
• Creating efficient UV layouts that work well within the engine/platform constrains.
• Photorealistic texturing of characters which includes diffuse, normal map, specular, bump.
• Working closely with Tech Art and other dependent departments throughout the character production process.
• and such other duties and responsibilities assigned by Cloud Imperium Games reasonably consistent with employee’s skills and experience.


• At Least 8 years’ experience in game development
• Strong experience in leading a team of artists
• Thorough knowledge of 3DS Max and Photoshop and next gen texturing techniques
• An eye for detail while maintaining efficient model making
• Experience with PBR based shaders
• Excellent sense of form
• Passion for pushing the state of the art in asset fidelity and production techniques

Technical Designer


Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a skilled Technical Designer to help in creating gameplay systems, exciting gameplay experiences, and interesting reasons to keep the players returning to our numerous landing zones for our ambitious space simulation, Star Citizen!


• Design and develop new features for Star Citizen as they relate to the overall landing zone experience.
• Be a “go to” person for the implementation of our landing zone content. This includes but wouldn’t be limited to:
o Design, whitebox and maintain several of the shops that players visit in the game to help create a fun, intuitive and interesting shopping experience.
o Determine what the overarching experience would be at many of our landing zone locations.
o Design and create content that fits within the bounds of our systemic game.
o Documentation of the above in such a way that other people/disciplines can understand and implement content that you’ve designed.
• Be a role model within the department for cleanly implementing content with our design tools and scripting languages.
• Create logical, archetype based AI with our proprietary toolset that can be shared between our locations.
• Pitch concepts, designs and full-proposals to project leads.
• Partner with cross-disciplinary teams to execute game systems/designs.
• Have a good understanding of Visio, Word, Excel and Confluence in order to complete your design work.
• Identify and resolve conflicts with other disciplines in a way that best meets the design goals of the project.
• Review work at various stages to ensure the execution matches the goals and quality requirements.
• Routinely collect feedback from user-testing, the development team and design management. Identify solutions to the problems expressed that won’t negatively impact other systems or mechanics.


• Preferably 3-5 years of game industry experience.
• Knowledge with some type of logic based programming or scripting language.
• Detailed oriented person that can look at their own work with a critical eye.
• Must have knowledge in writing script to handle gameplay systems such as basic AI behavior, cooperative mechanics, weapons, and, scripted sequences.
• Ability to collaborate well with other team members.
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong communicator, both oral and written.
• A passion for playing games.

Senior Game/AI Programmer


Foundry 42 Ltd in Frankfurt, Germany is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Game/AI Programmer to drive AI/Game Code development for the First Person Shooter areas of Star Citizen/Squadron 42 with the code and production groups across multiple studios.


• Work with existing engine code base to develop and enhance game play. This includes player / world interaction, AI strategies and rules, game play, etc.
• Develop game code and extend AI code for a high profile game
• Design and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code
