3D Vehicle Artist

Description

Foundry 42 is looking for artists with experience working in hard surfaces. Our artists are responsible for working closely with designers to create ships of all shapes, setup in strike teams, you will be work together to craft these beautiful flying multiplayer levels.
The ideal candidate has a good understanding of vehicle/industrial design, our ships require a strong degree of technical knowledge both in the software we use and the function areas that need to be developed to make a fully functioning ship for the Star Citizen universe. They work well and communicate with designers and other disciplines in a collaborative team oriented development process.

Responsibilities

Working from concept models and images turn them in fully functioning and flyable works of art – the work is both exteriors and mainly interiors.
Collaborate with designers, technical artists, and partner studios to understand and implement correct file naming, and directory structure requirements within the engine’s and game’s limitations.
As part of a team, maintain the high standards of modelling, texturing, PBR material creation and manufacturer design cues to provide consistent and high quality models.
Work with technical artists and animators to deliver ‘animation’ ready solutions, landing gear, cockpits, cargo doors, ejection seats.

Requirements

Hard surface modeling experience.
Strong working knowledge of 3DS Max and Photoshop
An eye for detail while maintaining efficient model making
Experience applying and tweaking shaders.
A keen eye for Industrial Design
Excellent sense of form, mass and volume.
Passion for pushing the state of the art in asset fidelity and production techniques.
High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
International travel may be required as part of the role.

Pluses

Experience with Cry Engine.
Experience using ZBrush or Mudbox for organic shapes.
Knowledge and/or experience with PBR (physically based rendering).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
An avid gamer.
A love of Sci-Fi
Experience in vehicle or industrial design.

Senior Props Artist

Description

Foundry 42 is looking for a Senior Prop Artists with experience creating high quality game assets. You will be working closely with our concept, environment and ship teams to create all the objects that bring our environments and ships to life.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of game art creation and should strive to push the boundaries of next gen art. They should be organised, adaptable and understand technical limitations and budgets.

Responsibilities

* Support the Art Director interpreting the vision for the game, creating props that complement the environments and help to tell the story of the Star Citizen universe.
* Create high quality props from concepts images, references and art direction.
* Work with the Lead Prop artist to push the quality of artwork both visually and technically.
* Aid in the management of props created by partner studios and external vendors.
* Deliver consistent and high quality models while being mindful of budgets and technical requirements.
* Support other team members through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
* Develop pipelines and prototype new technologies.
* Define work processes together with the Lead Artist, the Tech Art and production groups.
* Review and feedback on other artist work to maintain quality and visual style.
* Maintain documentation and best practice examples.

Requirements

* Thorough knowledge of the game development process.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience creating high quality props for AAA games.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Strong working knowledge of 3DS Max and Photoshop.
* An understanding of effective asset creation and optimization.
* Experience applying and tweaking shaders.
* A keen eye for spatial composition and building believable game assets.
* Excellent sense of form, mass and volume.
* Passion for pushing the state of the art in asset fidelity and production techniques.
* High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
* Experience and examples of both hard and soft surface game assets.
* International travel may be required as part of the role.

Animation Programmer

Description

Cloud Imperium is looking for an Animation Programmer to work on our exciting PC space combat sim, Star Citizen!

The Animation Programmer will work in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment to implement animation features and systems in Cloud Imperium’s games. Animation Programmers work closely with animators in hooking up animations for character locomotion sets, vehicle and spaceship animation sets, and interactions between various animated characters and elements.

Requirements:

* Expert in 3D animation and 3D math
* Experience with 3D character and/or vehicle animation systems including skeletal animation
* Knowledge of skinning and morph target technology
* Experience with using IK, blending, and motion capture data in games
* Strong C++ programming skills
* A passion for making and playing games
* Work well in a cooperative team environment
* International travel may be required as part of the role

Bonus points can include:

* Experience with character customization and/or wearable systems
* Renderer development experience using DirectX, and optionally OpenGL
* Experience programming game features and systems, especially player-visible game features
* CryEngine development experience
* Online game and/or MMO development experience, including client/server development of game features
* Space combat sim development experience
* One or more shipped products, especially PC products
* Strong multi-threaded programming skills

Senior Graphics Programmer

Description

As a senior graphics programmer on a high-spec PC only title you’ll help us push the already great visuals even further by implementing the very latest rendering technology to deliver a truly next generation experience. You’ll be working closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team across multiple studios to ensure we identify and deliver the very best and most suitable solutions to bring the game universe to life.

Requirements:

• Expert in 3D rendering, 3D math, and optimization of the complete rendering pipeline
• Renderer development experience using DirectX, and optionally OpenGL
• Experience creating and optimizing shaders in HLSL
• Strong C++ and multi-threaded programming skills
• A passion for making and playing games
• Work well in a cooperative team environment
• Ability to innovate, plan and deliver full features
• Strong mentoring skills to train junior members of team
• Pro-actively identify and address problems
• Up to date knowledge of the latest rendering techniques such as PBR & Compute
• International travel may be required as part of the role
