Senior Animator – Frankfurt

Description

Foundry 42 Ltd in Frankfurt, Germany is looking for a Senior Animator to work with the design team under direction of the Game Director and Animation Director on animation related areas within Squadron 42 and the FPS module for Star Citizen.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Animation Director, Animation Lead and Senior Animators on implementing animations within the game engine
• Create key frame animation as well as working with motion capture data for ingame assets while following the given style guide
• Ensure timely completion of animation commitments at the desired quality bar
• Partners with designers, programmers and other departments involved

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in game development – in an Animator capacity
• Shipped (from pre-production to release) 2-3+, large scale, 3D titles (PC, current/next-gen consoles)
• Positive, solution-orientated individual with a passion for game development
• A thorough understanding of animation pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation
• Expert knowledge with Maya and other equivalent software
• Ability to create fluid, smooth, realistic animations with specific demonstration of animation fundamentals
• Experience with next generation AAA game engines
• An understanding of effective asset creation and optimization
• High degree of self-motivation and initiative
• Inherent ability to bring out the best in people around you, remains positive, and motivate your team
• Expert in time management, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to gather, analyse, and act on feedback from the team, openness to critique
• Passion and constant drive to stay up to date with latest technology and new techniques
• Excellent English communication and written skills

Senior Game Programmer – Frankfurt

Description

Foundry 42 in Frankfurt, Germany is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Game Programmer to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Engineer code that achieves desired gameplay as specified by game designs.
• Assist in designing and creating gameplay tools that facilitates developer workflow and alleviates bottlenecks.
• Share your knowledge of transforming code into fun by instilling those values and skills in other engineers.
• Work with an interdisciplinary agile team of artists, designers, and programmers to design, prototype, and implement new gameplay features.
• Design and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code.
• Develop and test code, fix bugs, and profile and optimize code as directed.
• Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
• Document and peer review technical designs with other software engineers.
• Work with QA, providing information needed to fully test developed code.
• Provide support to internal customers for developed software.
• Keep up to date on state-of-the-art software engineering methods, practices, and technologies.
• Communicate with other team members, internal customers, and when required external customers to determine requirements.
• Work well with other team members in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment.
• Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks.

Requirements

• Passion for video games, science-fiction, and space simulations.
• C / C++ programming skills
• A minimum of 3 years’ game programming experience, with at least one shipped AAA title.
• Mathematics skills, including proficiency with trigonometry and linear algebra.
• Experience in the design and implementation of various game systems, including game object management, gameplay scripting, FX, database management, or online networking.
• Speaks “Designer” fluently.
• Experience with code optimization.
• Comfortable contributing to an established engine.
• Able to work in a collaborative environment with a team of highly skilled programmers.
• Self-motivated and self-directing, knowledgeable about and willing to pitch in on many areas of development.
• High comfort level working within, and analyzing and improving, an established code base.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• International travel may be required as part of the role.

Senior Engine Programmer – Frankfurt

Description

Foundry 42 Ltd in Frankfurt, Germany is looking for a Senior Engine Programmer to drive the core engine production for Star Citizen and Squadron 42 with the production and engine groups across multiple studios.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new and existing sub-systems of the CryENGINE SDK
• Contribute to maintenance of low-level engine systems
• Work with Art and Tech Design to improve and extend game production pipeline
• Ensure reliability of build systems for SDK releases and special projects
• Participate in the development of game prototypes and custom solutions for external partners
• Create and maintain modules to be used for automated testing
• Contribute to developer and end-user documentation
• Provide support and training to internal and external developers
• Show a strong passion for customer service and satisfaction
• Take initiative and be willing to expand own horizon
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Safeguard company assets including source code, artwork, tools, game design information and technical know-how

Requirements:

• 5+ years professional game production experience
• Shipped (from pre-production to release) 2-3+, large scale, 3D titles (PC, current/next-gen consoles)
• Excellent understanding of Object-oriented analysis and design
• Excellent understanding of common algorithms and data structures as well as those use in 3D games in particular
• Excellent understanding of C++ and its compilers and tools (Visual Studio, gcc, clang)
• Strong understanding of math and physics
• Strong understanding of rigid-body dynamics and particle systems
• Strong software engineering, debugging, refactoring, profiling and optimizing skills
• Adopt existing development processes and look for improvements
• Excellent problem-solving skills
