VFX Producer

CoSA VFX is looking for a Los Angeles-based VFX Producer. The focus of this position is to be hands-on VFX shot production, bidding and client relations.
Successful candidates should possess 3 – 5 years experience working with clients, bidding, and face-to-face communication on smaller teams.
Applicants must be based in Los Angeles, and available for in-person interview at our office in North Hollywood.
Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Gotham, Person of Interest, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Guardians of the Galaxy.

SUMMARY

This role is ideal for a VFX Producer who enjoys working on smaller teams, where face-to-face communication plays a greater role.
More than just managing client expectations, you will be responsible for building collaborative partnerships with clients to achieve the highest possible client satisfaction and creative quality.
You will be expected to work within the structure of an established production management workflow, while at the same time adapting to meet the needs of each client and each project as efficiently as possible.
Candidates should be a good fit for our company’s unpretentious but professional vibe. We are looking for someone who takes satisfaction in being a valued member of a team, and puts priority on being easy to work with.

REQUIREMENTS

Superior client relations skills, including:

* 3 – 5 years experience as a primary client contact on TV or feature film VFX projects
* Communicate effectively with busy clients
* Insight into how clients and in-house supervisors work, what is important to them (and what is not)
* Answer client questions with confidence

Excellent verbal and written communication skills:

* Personable manner, and an interest in working face-to-face with a small team of artists
* Craft the language of emails to have ‘just the right tone’ and avoid misunderstandings
* Communicate urgency without seeming abrasive or flustered
* Excellent grammar, spelling and written skills in general

Experience bidding a wide range of VFX shots:

* Identify, and call out, particularly time-consuming or complex shots from brief descriptions
* Recognize when bid assumptions need to be made explicit to the client
* Recognize when client approval is needed before proceeding with additional work

Thorough understanding of the VFX production process and tools:

* Anticipate, and proactively address, issues that crop up in production
* Familiarity with off-the-shelf software used in VFX, plus the strengths and weaknesses of each tool
* Hands-on experience with file transfer technologies such as Aspera and FTP
* Extensive knowledge of Mac OS and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Shotgun a plus.

The ability to work effectively as part of a tight knit team:

* Collaborate with in-house supervisors to organize reviews, develop schedules, and prepare deliverables
* Possess a genuine interest in mentoring junior production staff
* Demonstrate superior teamwork, respect and diplomacy in stressful situations

Strong organizational skills:

* Very high level of consistency in naming files, formatting emails and packaging deliverables
* Monitor heavy email traffic. Identify and respond promptly to higher priority messages
* Work independently to meet production goals under tight deadlines
* Excellent self-management skills and multi-tasking

CG Supervisors

CoSA VFX is looking for an experienced Los Angeles-based CG SUPERVISORS with a minimum of 6 years in TV and/or motion picture VFX.
Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Minority Report, Gotham, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Guardians of the Galaxy.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be based in Los Angeles, and available for in-person interview at our office in North Hollywood.

Successful candidates should:

* Possess a minimum of 6 years experience creating photoreal VFX for TV and/or motion pictures. Some TV experience is required.
* Additionally, have a minimum of 3 years as a CG Supervisor, with a proven track record of delivering shows, developing CG pipelines and leading teams of CG artists.
* Possess in-depth, hands-on knowledge of cutting edge techniques in CG shot production, including digital doubles, natural phenomena (fire, water, smoke), destruction and crowds.
* Be able to solve complex creative problems and establish powerful workflows using simple, efficient techniques, iterating rapidly based on client notes.
* Interface with clients, accurately interpreting and facilitating clear client notes to move rapidly towards the client’s desired look or result. On-set experience a big plus.
* Possess exceptionally strong organizational skills, the ability to enforce to consistent file naming and workflows across a team, and to be engaged with multiple projects at the same time.
* Stay current on developing trends in CG technology; recommend new technologies and assist in successful implementation of new tools.

VFX Coordinator

CoSA VFX is looking for a Los Angeles-based VFX Coordinator.

Successful candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a VFX Coordinator in episodic television or feature films.

This role is ideal for a VFX Coordinator who enjoys working on smaller teams, where face-to-face communication plays a greater role.
You will be expected to work within the structure of an established production management workflow, while demonstrating flexibility in meeting the needs of each project as efficiently as possible.
Other requirements include: excellent grammar and writing skills, the ability to handle production data with a high level of speed, finesse and precision.

REQUIREMENTS

Senior Nuke Compositors

CoSA VFX is looking for SENIOR NUKE COMPOSITORS with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in TV and motion picture VFX.
Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Gotham, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Person of Interest and Guardians of the Galaxy.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be based in Los Angeles, and available for in-person interview at our office in North Hollywood.

They should possess:

* A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in photoreal VFX for episodic television and motion pictures.
* High-level knowledge of Nuke, VFX color pipelines and VFX production process, with experience compositing multi-layer EXR CG, set extensions and FX elements.
* Ability to finish shots independently on a tight episodic TV schedule. Also to work effectively as a part of team collaborating on larger sequences.
* Ability to solve creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, share ideas with teammates, and iterate rapidly based on client notes.
* Working knowledge of Python, TCL, JavaScript a big plus.
