About the Position

The VFX Supervisor is the creative and technical eye of the show, reviewing and supporting lighting, FX and compositing stage of the production. He or she will work closely with the director and art-director to achieve the look of the show. The ideal candidate is an experienced artist with four or more years in one or more of the VFX departments, has a creative eye, and has the ability to guide and support the team.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Director and Art-Director to create the visual level of the show
Work closely with CG Supervisor, Pipeline Supervisor and other TDs to identify and solve technical issues within our pipeline
Identify and communicate and implement the VFX needs of the production
Manage and support the VFX team (Lighting, FX and Comp) throughout the show.
Review and critique the VFX team via dailies or weeklies
Mentor and guide the VFX team
Ensure that all production deadlines are met while providing work at a quality
Be part of the recruiting process by assisting the HR department with the development of job descriptions, sourcing of candidates as well as the candidate selection process

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in the animation or film industry
Excellent understanding of CGI production and pipelines
Excellent understanding of Maya’s FX systems is a must
Excellent understanding of compositing packages using Nuke and/or Fusion is a must
Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills are a must
Experience in Houdini is preferred

About the Position

As a Senior FX Artist you create high-calibre dynamic and riveting visual effects while meeting production deadlines. You provide guidance and mentorship to the FX team and report regularly to the VFX supervisor informing them of any concerns or new developments.

Responsibilities

Lead Rigger

Description

About the Position

As the Lead Rigger your primary responsibility is to create highly versatile character rigging systems and animation interfaces. You work collaboratively with various departments to achieve the intended performance requirements and keep current with evolving rigging technologies. The rigs will be used for the animation of 3D characters and props.

Responsibilities

Work closely with pipeline TD’s to improve rigging technology
Keep current on rigging techniques and technology
Rig 3D assets (characters, props, sets, etc.) to achieve the intended animation performance
Use skinning and other deformers to achieve the intended performance in an efficient manner
Troubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation team

BG Layout Supervisor, 2D

About the Position

We’re currently looking for a BG Layout Supervisor! Working with the team on one of our popular animated series, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the technical and creative success of production backgrounds for the show. An in-depth understanding of Flash or Photoshop combined with several years of BG layout experience is required.

Responsibilities

Guide and develop a team of artists to create the requested style of production layouts for 2D animation
Formulate a plan for each episode to achieve deliverables, create efficiencies, and work closely with the Production Coordinator to proactively flag and problem-solve any potential issues
Assign and review production layouts, ensuring revisions are completed as needed to uphold a high level of quality throughout the show
Manage a team to ensure they are meeting assigned weekly quotas and expectations
Ensure production layouts work well for the rest of the animation pipeline
Work collaboratively with other departments in a team environment

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in production layouts

The successful candidate will take part in the development of the UI for our in-house production management system. You will contribute directly to the studio’s expansion into the use of new technologies and software. Develop pipeline tools and processes to meet production needs

As a Lead Compositing Artist you will be responsible for developing tools, shaders and workflows for the shading and lighting artists. You will also be working closely with lighting team and pipeline TDs to ensure that we’re able to achieve the look and vision of our shows as efficiently as possible.

You will supervise, manage, create and administer a digital production pipeline for an amazing show at our studio. As the CG Supervisor, you will ensure the show has a consistent quality and style as well as ensure the project is of the highest quality possible within the parameters of the production schedule and budget.

We’re searching for Key Animation Supervisors to work with our team on a new animated series! You’ll need to be able to spot and create strong, expressive storytelling poses and have a solid understanding of character design, staging, perspective and model. You’ll also require the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with and mentor artists on your team, so previous leadership experience is desired. An in-depth knowledge of Harmony or Flash is required. Above all, you must be passionate about the projects you work on, love to draw, and have a desire to make this show amazing! The start date for this position may be flexible for the right candidates (between December 2015 and January 2016).

Responsibilities

Reviewing animatics with Directors and breaking down the board to distribute to crew
Working with crew to ensure that all elements of scenes (e.g. BG, Posing, FX etc.) are present and maintaining show continuity before the show moves on to animation
Communicating revisions required to key animators/posing artists
Meeting set production milestones and deadlines and motivating your team to do so as well

Producer, 3D

Description

About the Position

As the Producer, you will oversee all aspects of production planning for animation – from scripts, voice records, storyboards, animation and post-production through delivery to broadcasters. You must have strong knowledge of 3D animation and production process which will aid in establishing strategies for meeting key deliverables and milestones, and additional experience with Maya workflows is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

Manage long form animation productions across all departments
Manage production budget and maintain production schedule
Ensure all departments achieve production milestones
Negotiate contracts with staff, artists and all other outside vendors/suppliers
Manage and delegate to the Production Manager and Production Coordinators
Support the Director and creator’s vision for the series
Liaise directly with clients
Ensure that artists have the proper tools available to them
Work with Finance, Director of Production, VP Production and other production and corporate staff to establish a working production budget for a series
Track and maintain the production budget, attend weekly cost report meetings, approval of time sheets, invoices, purchases
Create, maintain and revise as necessary production schedules for the Production where necessary and work in collaboration with the Director of Production and overall studio schedules
Establish regular team meetings involving key supervisors to regularly review progress on production schedule and budget
Oversee the day to day operation of the production
Manage the script process, including clearances, script meetings, delivery and related budget
Oversee the asset library and archiving to ensure that naming conventions are established and followed

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role on an animated production
Experience and knowledge with 3D pipelines and workflow
Driven, innovative and solution focused
Exceptional project management skills, able to successfully manage people, expenses and timelines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
