Digital Producer

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Digital Producer is responsible for the planning, scheduling, management, and delivery of all aspects of digital production for feature film visual effects. Oversees all production workflow and partners with the VFX producer and show supervisors to deliver the contracted work on schedule.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

· Oversees the daily operations of the show Production team and Digital Artists to ensure efficient flow of work through the facility
· Works with show supervisors and VFX Producer to develop a breakdown of all digital effects work for the project
· Works with VFX Producer to revise bids and manage facility show costs
· With the support of the DPM to create a schedule for all phases of production
· Creates and maintains task assignments for the teams and works with team leads to create element and final delivery schedules
· Supervises a team of DPMs, Production Coordinators, and Production Assistants to schedule and update progress of tasks in the production tracking system and on the show board
· Partners with the show supervisors and leads to understand the development schedule, show pipeline, and its implication for production workflow
· Participates in show planning meetings with Supervisors and Technology teams through both development and shot production phases of the project
· Creates the call sheet and daily schedule, ensuring that dailies, client meetings, Supervisor walkthroughs, production meetings, and other priorities are effectively planned and managed
· Prioritizes daily output for CG elements and client deliveries
· Identifies potential issues in advance, facilitates problem solving and maintains the momentum required to keep the team delivering shots on schedule
· Acts as escalation point for conflict resolution and all show-related facility issues
· Trains and mentors Production staff and leads show performance appraisal process for Production team
· Plans and leads the execution of the show post-mortems
· Partners with HR and Supervisors to complete the show performance appraisal process for digital artists

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field
· 7+ years experience in production management or supervisory role for feature film visual effects required
· Demonstrated organizational, project management and leadership skills
· Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required; experience with production tracking software and asset management software a plus
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high pressure environment

Game Engine Character Artist

Description

Purpose of the job:

Digital Domain is one of the largest and most influential visual effects studios in the world. We produce top tier visual effects for movies, television, commercials, along with virtual production, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) development services for clients and internally created content. The virtual production team is leading the industry with an advanced real-time visualization pipeline tightly integrated with motion capture, game engine, and interactive VR/AR technologies. We are looking to expand this team for work on key feature film and immersive storytelling experiences. As a character artist you will be creating memorable, iconic and interesting characters for virtual production (within feature film) and virtual reality projects. You will be expertly modeling, texturing and shading characters and other key assets.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

· To work closely with the virtual art department supervisor and Virtual Art Department (VAD) team to develop build characters as directed by feature film makers and internally driven virtual reality projects
· Creating mid and low poly character models, textures and shaders including UV maps.
· Maintains a consistent style under director of production designers, art directors and creative directors.
· Uses knowledge in human and animal anatomy to ensure character models achieve a high level of functionality and aesthetic design.
· Active participation in technical and artistic discussions and problem solving.
· Works closely with animators and riggers to ensure models deform correctly and are functional.
· Work closely with TD’s to ensure the pipeline is as efficient as possible.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

· 2+ years modeling experience in games industry as an character artist with at least one AAA game shipped on PC or console
· 2 + years of experience using maya, photoshop, Z-Brush, Mudbox or equivilent.
· 2+ years of experience with asset development for Unity and/or Unreal

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:

· Experience with asset development for use in Unity and or Unreal.
· Excellent mid and low poly modeling skills.
· Good visual and technical understanding of 3D character modeling and texturing.
· Strong knowledge of texture mapping (including normal, diffuse, spec etc), UV mapping and generation along with texture creation and painting.
· Fast, organized, take direction well, and can deal with high profile directors, vfx supervisors and production designers.
· Advanced knowledge of human and animal anatomy
· Strong painting skills in both stylized and photorealistic styles
· Strong skills in sculpting and generating normal maps from high poly models.
· Good understanding of clean edge flow and best practices for modeling for skin deformation and animation performance.
· Ability to rig characters and skin weight is advantageous
· Knowledge of Motionbuilder advantageous.
· Knowledge of shader development in Unity and Unreal advantageous.
· Knowledge of scripting (Python, Mel, C# scripting in Unity, and/or Unreal Blueprint) useful.
· Experience with virtual reality development and optimization is advantageous
· Strong organizational and communications skills along with understanding production values, deadlines and priorities
· Willing to take direction and be a team player.

Integration Artist

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Integration Artist tracks and sets up shots and sequences in Digital Domain’s proprietary software, Track and sees them through the integration pipeline from start to finish.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Sets up and tracks shots and sequences while meeting all technical and aesthetic standards for the project
Complete tasks within production deadlines
Work closely with the other departments to ensure shots are running smoothly throughout the project’s pipeline

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

2+ years of experience setting up and tracking photorealistic shots for high-end features, commercials, and television (“Lead” experience a bonus)
Experience integrating work into Maya, Houdini and Nuke
Experience working from on-set integration data
Some basic modeling experience is preferred
Animation Rig-based character match-moving experience is a plus
PFTrack experience is a plus

Strong mathematical skills are a plus

Human Resources Generalist

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Human Resources Generalist is an integral part of the HR team. Under general supervision and acting on one’s own initiative, the HR Generalist performs a wide range of duties within a framework set by the HR department to include generalist functions, confidential administrative, operational, and project support. This position will be based in Los Angeles or Orange County, CA.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Assist with and help administer various employee programs, including New Hire Orienation, Benefits Orientations, and Timecard Training.
Process various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new-hires, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, and terminations.
Prepare for and conduct exit interviews.
Compile and enter new hire information into various company databases.
Prepare all internal and external job postings for Immigration, Recruiting, and general Advertising needs.
Create & maintain standard HR reports as needed.
Assists with tracking efforts such as employment agreement dates, immigration related visa/permit expiry dates and flags HR Director with upcoming due dates.
Support the onboarding process for all hires.
Support a variety of cross studio functions to assist with the smooth transition of internal transfers.
Act as first line of escalation for all HR questions from employees and outside contacts.
Provides advice and support for non-routine ER & performance issues where required and under the direction of the Director of HR.
Key contact for all benefits administration inquiries.
Work with HR/Recruiting to facilitate any recruiting special events, which would include the cross-studio participation in any industry conferences, as well as local industry functions.
Work with brokerage team and Finance department to reconcile all Benefit and HR vendor invoices.
Prepare all purchase/check requisitions as needed.
Post contributions into DFSA accounts on a bi-weekly basis.
Coordinate and help administer all Workers’ compensation claims.
Respond to Unemployment claims/issues via ADP Unemployment Claims System.
Complete all incoming employment verifications.
Complete all requests for miscellaneous employment correspondence such as travel letters, employment verification letters, etc.
Assist with getting all new incoming benefit deduction changes to payroll department for timely processing.
Process all change of personnel information such as address changes, beneficiary changes, emergency contact updates, etc.
Address any feedback files that come in via the PSW system for 401k plan.
Prepare monthly service award reports and assist with preparation of award distribution when applicable.
Liaise with Immigration Attorneys on all immigration/visa matters.
Draft employment related memos as needed.
Prepare and distribute bi-weekly sick/vacation balance reports to management.
Create and maintain all Employee Personnel, Medical, 401k and Immigration files and ensure that they are always up to date, confidential and in compliance with legal requirements.
Work with HR Director on annual projects such as 401k NDA testing, Wellness Program Initiatives, etc.
Work with the Director of HR to facilitate Team Building events
Assist with other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or related field preferred.
3+ years of HR Generalist or Administrator experience, particularly with benefits administration, contract administration, and immigration administration.
Ability to communicate effectively with various types of people, be able to multi-task and thrive in a time critical environment.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Advanced knowledge of Google Apps, including Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and negotiation skills

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Develop, Test, and Maintain C#;Java; C++ Code for the Unity Platform.
To work closely within the virtual production and VR teams to develop and maintain lightweight classes covering AI, hardware device input, network server/clients and game play mechanics to support production pipelines for virtual reality experiences.
Knowledge of optimization and streamlining game engine code for virtual reality in terms of memory, frame rate and performance.
Help develop new and exciting game play and experience mechanics for new virtual reality projects.
Identify and Design and develop core tools into the pipeline.
