Core Software – Build Engineer

Description

Purpose of the job:

Develop, document and implement for cross operating systems software building, configuration and deployment.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Develop and support internal tools related to software configuration/deployment, software build, continuous integration, and release automation
Build, install, and manage the dependent libraries required to build our internal too
Provide direct support to developers and technical artists on build errors, configuration issues, and revision control issues

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

College degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field and/or a combination of education and experience that would be equivalent to that level of professionalism, problem solving and analytical skills.
5 + years work experience required in release engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or Software development
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn
Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
Building compiled code using frameworks like make, cmake, SCons, ant
Scripting languages like Python, Perl, or bash
Linux command-line navigation and administration tools
Revision control systems like git (at an administrator level)
Continuous integration systems (similar to Jenkins or buildbot)
Package management and distribution software like yum, apt-get, RPM

Digital Production Administrator (DPA)

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Digital Production Administrator is responsible for hands on management of facility resources including render nodes, disk space and I/O. The DPA works closely with the Assistant Technical Directors (ATD) to ensure show priorities and facility guidelines are being met while working to meet optimal efficiency of Facility Resources. The Digital Production Administrator serves as a dedicated production support liaison for the entire length of a production. A DPA provides a high level of technical support for facility-wide tools and pipeline support. DPA’s serve as the first point of contact for artist and production support and work as an intermediary between Software and Systems support.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Move data between Vancouver and Venice facilities. Move data on/off disk for Client deliveries or turnovers.
Manage Render Farm utilization and efficiency.
Troubleshooting of technical render issues and escalates to proper support channels if necessary.
Responsible for management of shows resources and maintaining optimal efficiency.
Responsible for providing productions with Projections and Resource Reports.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

Production experience in computer animation, visual effects, or game industry.
Experience with Maya, Houdini, Nuke, or other 3rd party applications.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently or within a group, and work with minimal supervision.
Exceptional communication skills in dealing with both technical and artistic groups.
BA or BS in Computer Science, Computer Graphics or Film.
Python, Perl, C++ programming skills a huge plus.

Modeler

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Modeler will produce photorealistic models from scratch and see them through the modeling pipeline from start to finish.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Create photorealistic models from scratch that meet all technical and aesthetic standards for the project
Complete tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed
Be able to provide guidance and mentorship to other modelers
Work closely with the texture artists to ensure all models work smoothly within the texture pipeline as well as the modeling pipeline
Work closely with the riggers in the case of character models to ensure models work smoothly within the rigging pipeline as well as the modeling pipeline

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

2+ years of experience creating high resolution, photorealistic models for feature films in Maya
Experience with Character, Hard Surface vehicles or props and/or Environments modeling
Experience working from 2D reference as well as cyberscan and motion capture data
Zbrush and Mudbox experience is preferred
Cyslice experience is a plus
Photorealistic texture painting and lighting experience is a plus
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

Texture Artist

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Senior Texture Artist will produce photorealistic textures from scratch textures from scratch and see them through the textures pipeline from start to finish.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Create photorealistic textures from scratch that meet all technical and aesthetic standards for the project
Is assigned the most difficult work and complex sequences
Complete tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed
Be able to provide guidance and mentorship to other texture artists
Work closely with the modeling artists to ensure all textures work smoothly throughout the pipeline
Is able to work on complex assets and sequences
Complete tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed
Be able to provide guidance and mentorship to other texture artists
Work closely with the modeling artists to ensure all textures work smoothly throughout the pipeline
Work closely with look development and lighting artists to ensure textures are working technically and aesthetically in the lighting pipeline

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience creating photorealistic textures for feature films in Mari with experience in Maya ideal
Extensive experience working with photographic elements to create textures
Understanding of color spaces and working in a linear-lighting pipeline
Extensive experience editing and generating UVs
Mari, Photoshop, and Zbrush experience is preferred
Photorealistic modeling, look development or lighting experience is a plus
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
Leading or mentoring experience is a plus
