Production Accountant

Description

Purpose of the job:

Responsible for the handling of complex production and general accounting work which requires an understanding of accounting principles and a basic understanding of the production process.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Responsible for day to day oversight of a project’s financial health, for specific feature film VFX production as assigned
Weekly updating of project Estimated Final Cost Reports
Assists Producers with bidding, budgeting, and review of all financial projections
Prepares cost analyses and other special reports as needed
Reviews and codes production-specific purchase orders and invoices
Prepares weekly billings for re-billable costs as required
Reviews weekly detail reports for accuracy and makes reclassifications as required
Provides show information needed for facility forecasting and planning
Maintains assigned production accounting records
Prepares and manages billing and collections for assigned productions
Generates standard weekly financial reports and ad-hoc reports as needed
Supports payroll processing and timecards
Supports tax incentive/rebate processes and tracking

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance with four or more years related accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
VFX experience preferred
Computer literacy in a PC environment with excellent Excel skills and proficiency with database applications
Exposure to Oracle Projects and/or Oracle Fusion a plus
Diplomacy, discretion, reliability, and a sense of humor are critical
Must be flexible and have the ability to work well as part of a “team”
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment and with all levels of personnel
Ability to prioritize work and remain detail oriented
Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Office working environment
Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs
Walking/bending/sitting

Digital Production Manager

Description

Purpose of the job:

The Digital Production Manager (DPM) is responsible for the scheduling and management of all aspects of digital production for feature film visual effects.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

With the Digital Producer, creates a schedule for all phases of production and works with Digital Artist Managers to assign digital artists to the work
Responsible for tracking billed artist weeks against the bid
Maintains the hold schedule and authorizes releases for all digital artists
Creates and maintains task assignments for the teams; anticipates potential staffing ..changes based on development or creative shifts through the show
Responsible for artist timecard and vacation requests
Maintains and publishes information regarding client notes and changes in planned work for Supervisors and Artists
Provides information to support the VFX Producer with bidding and change orders
Provides support to VFX and show Supervisors as needed
Manages the task assignments and priorities for the VFX Editor
Works with the DFX and CG Supervisors to create the render processor, disk space, and software projections for the duration of the show
Manages daily digital resource utilization and acts as the primary contact person on the production team with regards to allocation of show resources; communicates daily with the show DPA regarding changes to priorities, etc.
Oversees the setup of show-specific production needs including view stations, war rooms, etc.
Manages show space planning and artist moves with the Digital Artist Managers and Facility Operations
Responsible for end of show wrap up with key artists, Production Services and Video I/O • Participates in Production performance appraisal process
Attends show post-mortems, documents and identifies action items for Digital Production team

Education and/or Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications, or related field
5+ years production experience including
3+ years experience in a Production Management or a Supervisor role in feature film, visual effects experience preferred

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
Knowledge of Gmail and Google Apps for work is a plus
Experience with production tracking software (Shotgun) and asset management software a plus
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a high pressure environment

Senior Accountant

Description

Purpose:

Digital Domain is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules according to corporate time lines.
Significant participation with the monthly close procedures.
Assist with preparation of audit sampling package for external and internal audits.
Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Research and resolve account reconciling items.
Support other team members as necessary.
Payroll processing backup
Assist in annual audit
A/P assistance when needed
Perform other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years Accounting/Finance experience

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:

Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have organizational skills sufficient to prioritize work
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Familiarity with Oracle Fusion- Preferred
Qualified candidates must be able to work with limited supervision and in a fast paced environment.
