Job Description

The Integrated Advertising Division in London are looking for Lead/Senior Compositors for a brand new 6 part high-end episodic TV Series. Positions start as soon as possible, and will run through til mid November.
Compositors seamlessly integrate all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. Compositors work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete visual-effects shots.

Responsibilities:

Working in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots
Giving briefs and direction to the team with the aid of the VFX Supervisors in order to ensure the appropriate execution of shots
Training and mentoring of more junior artists
Integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects tv/film standard
Meeting schedules and show deadlines
Ongoing communication with Production and the team regarding schedules and deadlines

Art Department

If you are entering the final year of your degree then you will have the opportunity to join the internship scheme. As a placement student you will be exposed to a wide range of work and will be given a real-life view of what a career with Framestore would be like. Your learning will be through a combination of hands-on experience, scheduled presentations, a pre-agreed personal project and informal get-togethers. You will have the opportunity to learn first-hand what a career in post-production would be like.
Whichever area you end up working in you will be given a real taste of what it’s like to work at Framestore. You will work alongside other placement students and many talented and experienced artists on live and interesting projects.
In 2015 our interns had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects such as Jungle Book: Origins, The Martian and Tarzan as well as a host of other great shows. Framestore has a very impressive line up for 2016 so it looks like another great year!
The 2016 intern scheme will run from the 4th of July 2016 until the 26th of August 2016 and is only available to students who have the right to work in the UK. We will be closing for applications on Sunday the 8th of May 2016.
For the first time in five years we will be offering an internship in our Art Department. So we thought that we would share a little more information about that specific internship as the skills and experience required are slightly different than with most of our other teams.
The Art Department intern will have the opportunity to work closely with established concept artists working in a film environment. The intern will participate in research, idea generation, and the production of concept art to include character/creature designs, environments, vehicles/props, effects, and shot design. The intern will have the opportunity to learn more about using Photoshop and 3D software while working with experienced artists.

Ideal candidates should have a passion for film and concept art, and should demonstrate a strong ability in the following areas:

Excellent 2D skills and traditional art knowledge
Strong knowledge of Photoshop and digital painting techniques
Understanding of anatomy, design, colour theory, perspective, lighting and composition
Work well in and communicate ideas within a team environment
Be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a real passion for film and concept art
Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous for you to have working knowledge of 3D software.

Accounts Receivable

Digital Matte Painters

The Integrated Advertising Divison of Framestore are looking for Digital Matte Painters (DMP) for a brand new six-part, high-end episodic tv project. DMP Artists are responsible for creating photo realistic images, elements or textures that match into live action footage or can stand alone. DMP work can also be used in the creation of a 3D environments, either by individual artist, or part of a team.
A strong understanding for real world materials, lighting and composition is essential. DMP artists will work closely with CG and Composting departments and therefore must have a basic knowledge of the practises of each of these disciplines.

Assist with and develop the look of a shot/sequence in liaison with the show Lead and Supervision team
