Game Programmer

Description

Gameloft, a leading international publisher and developer of digital and social games with offices in 30 countries including Europe, North America and Asia, is seeking a Game Programmer to join our Toronto Studio.
Previous hit games such as The Oregon Trail, Modern Combat 4, Brother in Arms 2, N.O.V.A., Avatar, Dungeon Hunter, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Assassin’s Creed, Terminator Salvation, Asphalt 8, Let’s Golf!, and Order and Chaos are just a few of the 300 games Gameloft has created since it was founded.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Programming in the relevant languages (C, C++);
Programming all the various game modules (artificial intelligence, sound library, display, etc.);
Programming the tools required by other developers;
Collaborating closely with the Game Designers as well as the graphics teams to determine various game constraints and establish each element.

Skills and Profile

Strong programming skills in C/C++;
Experience with iOS, Android, Wii, PS3, Xbox Live Arcade, PSP or DS;
University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience;
Two or more years of programming experience;
Knowledge of 3D programming (OpenGL);
Organized, self-reliant and a team player;
Experience in the video game industry;
Ability to work independently and under pressure;
Ability to meet tight deadlines;
Ability to optimize code size and speed to maximize the technological capacities of each device;
Ability to program in a methodical and structured manner;
High interest in video games and in-depth knowledge of gaming culture;
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

UI Artist

Description

Gameloft Toronto is currently seeking a User Interface (UI) Artist to join our team.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Working closely with the art and design teams, the User Interface Artist will create art assets for menus, icons and in-game HUDs, in addition to ensuring upcoming titles’ usability by designing intuitive, attractive and innovative UI systems.

Skills

• Proven understanding of UI design ergonomics and aesthetics
• Must possess strong illustration skills, sophisticated design and typographic sensibilities
• Intermediate Photoshop skills or higher
• High-res, mobile platform specialist or experience
• Flash and Motion Graphics experience a plus
• Must provide a solid and consistent body of relevant illustration and graphic design work
• Knowledge of 3D drawing
• Interactive Entertainment Industry Experience an asset

Data Tracking Manager

Description

Gameloft, an international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones and consoles, is seeking a Data Tracking Manager to join our Toronto Studio.
As a member of our Production team, you will take part in the full cycle development of iOS video games. The tracking data manager is a production role within game teams directly, and will be reporting to the studio’s Technical Manager.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Evaluate business tracking needs
• Evaluate existing procedures for tracking and reporting data
• Design a robust analytics solution that could be used in all Gameloft games
• Design advanced analytic features such as: cross-game analysis, abnormal behavior detection, etc.
• Implement this analytics library for various platforms like Android and iOS by working with existing Gameloft teams
• Maintain and support this library, including documentation and direct support to game teams
• Analyze competitors Analytics solutions for ways to improve our own

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experienced with commercial mobile analytic tools, such as Google Analytics, Flurry
• Professional experience in game development or game programming a major plus
• C++ programming skill required for iOS client app development
• SQL/database knowledge is required to check the data server side when needed
• Python knowledge to create scripts to run SQL queries
• Excellent English communication skills

VFX Artist

Description

Gameloft, an international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones and consoles, is seeking a VFX Artist to join our Toronto Studio.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Create, and implement real-time particle effects and animated shaders;
Model, texture, animate, light and optimize VFX assets under direction of Lead Artists;
Maintain a consistent art style under the direction of the Lead Artist and the Art Director;
Be willing to learn (and teach) new tools and techniques;
Collaborate with Designers, Programmers and other members of the art team and work closely with the tools and engine departments;
Be meticulous and organized in the approach to tasks, adhering to pipeline workflow

Skills and Profile

Experience with creating FX in a game engine or film and television;
Solid Technical abilities to aid in creating new visual effects art pipelines;
Comfortable using scripting tools to trigger effects based on game events;
Able to conceptualize and animate natural and fantastical effects (water, smoke, foliage, dust, fabric, spells, and explosions);
Ability to take direction, accepts feedback, and responds to criticism positively;
Experience in Photoshop or After Effects is preferred;
Experience with a rendering engine such as V-Ray;
Knowledge and experience with lighting;
Good problem-solving abilities;
Self motivated with strong work ethic;
Video game enthusiast;
Demonstrate visual effects ability;
Open-minded and outward-looking;
Be enthusiastic and ready to take on new challenges.
