UI Designer

Description

Take your career aloft at our growing New Orleans studio. We are adding a cutting-edge UI Designer to work side by side with game designers creating beautiful and user-friendly menus and interfaces. Work under our veteran Senior UI Artist and Art Director making hot new games, fulfilling a wide range of genres to ensure menu and HUD quality. Responsibilities:

The UI Designer will be in charge of menu and interface flow development for the studio projects and work closely with the Art Director and Game Designers to create a high quality user experience. Duties:

Prototype workable UI wireframe flows
Iterate menu flows until a final design is approved
Implement menus and interface following art direction from superiors

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate is a designer able to translate elaborate game functions into user friendly and accessible menu. Strong visual communication skills are a must.

2 years experience in UI design and/or webdesign.
Previous experience in Videogames UI design strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge of Flash, Actionscript, HTML and Photoshop.
Knowledge of freemium models and visual trends in mobile games user experience.
Must be skilled in visual communication and menu design in a monetization context.
Flexible to work on different projects with different deadlines;
Sophisticated design and typographic sensibilities.
Solid and consistent body of relevant illustration and graphic design work.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and contribute to team atmosphere.
Flexibility to work on different projects with different deadlines.
Excellent time management and task planning abilities.
Good knowledge of 3D drawing.
Task driven, self-motivated and proactive personality.
Passion for games a must!

Economy Design Director

Description

Take your career aloft at our growing New Orleans studio. We are adding an Economy Design Director to own monetization for all New Orleans studio games and collaborate with teams of award-winning game industry talent creating the next generation of social and mobile games. This positions will define and drive successful monetization new game titles as well as games in live services.

Responsibilities:

The Economy Design Director will be the go-to person overseeing the monetization strategy as well as working hands-on with analytics to make informed decisions based on the numbers and ultimately ensure monetization success.

Responsibilities:

Propose/execute strategies that successfully and measurably improve monetization
Continuously analyze in-game economy strategies and propose methods to optimize and maximize game revenue
Work closely with the production team to define and own game monetization strategies
Evaluate game performance on all platforms to identify all monetization improvement opportunities and weaknesses
Provide reports and weekly progress updates to all stakeholders involved
Monitor the team throughout production to drive and define economy features
Analyze competitors and engage in benchmarking
Collaborate with the monetization and design teams to ensure quality and consistency of strategy in conjunction with player retention initiatives
Establish meaningful insights from large data sets and analyze campaign efficacy through quality data analysis and reporting in coordination with Business Intelligence

Qualifications:

This role requires a strong background in game design.
4+ years of experience successfully monetizing browser-based or mobile online/social, games as a product manager or game designer

Highly advanced understanding of social/online games and related monetization strategies
Proven track record of successful game monetization in a casual/social game
Proven track record of managing a game economy during live support
Ability to plan, organize and complete multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Strong understanding of video game mechanics and gameplay
Exceptional work ethic and positive, inspiring attitude
Superior verbal and written communications skills
Working knowledge of MySQL.
Passion for creating video games!

Gameplay Programmers

Description

We are looking for motivated and skilled Gameplay Programmers at mid and senior level to join our talented and friendly programming staff. You will create new next generation mobile video games as well as maintain live services for existing successful mobile game projects. Our studio has worked on a variety of titles so far, including Ice Age Village, Cosmic Colony, World at Arms, Spiderman Unlimited, and Oregon Trail: American Settler.

Responsibilities:

Our Gameplay Programmers participate in the development of 3D and 2D projects on multiple platforms by programming, debugging, optimizing, and offering analysis and problem-solving skills for our mobile games. These developers may program different game modules, program the necessary tools for other teams, and work closely with other departments to implement each element. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are a must, including a positive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications:

The right candidate for this role must have a mid-level technical and game development background. Essential skill requirements for this position include:

Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, preferably focused on game development
1+ years of experience in game development (hobby development experience may qualify)
3+ years of professional experience programming in C++
Experience in core engine development, networking, mobile development or tools development
Recent experience in C/C++ and Objective-C
Knowledge of the technical Pipeline and all the process needed to make a game
Excellent communication abilities: active listening skills, accessible verbal and written presentation
Experience working in large code bases with other programmers
Comfortable in an Agile development environment
Keen personal interest in video games with a solid knowledge of the field
All qualified candidates must pass a technical test as part of the interview process for this role.

Lead Programmer

Description

Our growing New Orleans studio is looking for a motivated and skilled Lead Programmer to lead a team of wonderfully talented programmers. Our Lead Developer will manage, train and lead a team of top developers to create new next generation mobile video games as well as maintain live services projects.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Programmer is responsible for an individual project in close relationship with the studio manager, studio technical director, and producer, ensuring projects are delivered on time while targeting the best experience and quality. As part of a growing team, your mission will be to drive and participate in the development of 3D and 2D projects on multiple platforms.
The Lead Programmer, under direction of the Technical Director, will be responsible for being hands on with issues, understanding the technology, and leading teams by example. Our Lead Programmer will sit with the programmers to fix the bugs when they get stuck, re-write some code when it’s going the wrong direction, give directions to the team after experiences on the project, give the direction for an architecture/tech direction and lead the team to follow it. This position will also contribute to planning with our Producer, working carefully to reduce or eliminate potential crunch time.

Qualifications:

The right candidate for this role must have a senior-level technical and game development background. Essential skill requirements for this position include:

Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
4-8 years xp in game programming with experience in graphics (focus on OpenGL)
2+ years’ recent xp in the video game industry on console or mobile games.
Advanced xp in core engine development, networking, mobile development and tool development
Recent experience in C/C++
Experience managing teams of 5+ programmers
Knowledge of the technical pipeline and all the process needed to make a game
Evolving leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication – active listening skills, accessible verbal and written presentation
Able to work independently and under pressure and produce results under sometimes tight schedules
Able to optimize code size and speed to take full advantage of the capabilities of each platform
Methodical and structured programming technique
Comfortable in an Agile development environment
Keen personal interest in video games with a solid knowledge of the field
The interview process for this role will be: a screening interview, a technical interview with our World Technical Director and a half-day of onsite cross-disciplinary interviews with meeting the team.
