Following the development of many successful titles on iPhone such as the Modern Combat, Dungeon Hunter, Gangstar and Asphalt franchises, Gameloft Montreal is currently seeking a Concept Artist pour to collaborate on its next generation of iPhone, iPad and Android games.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of a team based in Montreal with international reach, you will be responsible for the pre-production of several mobile projects with varied graphical universes.
Work in collaboration with international production teams and the World Art Director
Create preliminary concepts/mood boards/storyboards and illustrations that will allow teams to better identify the visual identity of the project and convey this vision
Participate in developing technical specifications for characters and/or accessories and/or vehicles for easier modeling/animation
Show creativity and the ability to adapt to various game and graphical styles

Skills

Solid artistic foundation (understanding of colour, composition and lighting)
Expert knowledge in anatomy, perspective, architecture and industrial design
Perfect knowledge of Photoshop
Good knowledge of animation/screen writing
Good visual culture in various fields (architecture, design, movies, comics, games, etc.)

Profile

Very creative and versatile in terms of graphical universes and disciplines (storyboards/paint-overs/illustrations/concepts/industrial design)
Detail-oriented and able to finish projects quickly
Knowledge of 3D production tools (SketchUp/Maya/CINEMA 4D/3ds Max, etc.) is an asset
Open-minded, curious and self-critical
Passionate about video games and motivated

Sound Designer

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Working on site with the Game Designers and Producers for a multitude of projects at Gameloft, the Sound Effects Designer is responsible for creating all the sound for upcoming games on platforms such as iPad, iPhone, PS Vita, PS3. This position is under the direct supervision of the Sound Director. There is no music composing in this role.

Skills

Excellent knowledge of audio software compatible with the Windows platform: sequencers (Sonar, Cubase Ableton Live, Protools), audio editors (Sound Forge, WaveLab, Audition etc.). The ideal candidate must also have strong knowledge of popular VST plug-ins, necessary for audio editing and mixing.
Thorough knowledge of technical constraints (audio optimization, memory, etc.) linked to video game sound and sound format.
Knowledge of audio engines used in the video game industry (FMod, Wwise).
Capacity to create and edit original sounds, in the form of audio samples, sound synthesis, etc.
Familiar with sound effect libraries available on the market (Sound Ideas, Hollywood Edge, and others);
Capability to systematically and effectively manage large-scale databases (with more than 2000 sounds per game);
Ability to produce original, high-quality sound effects quickly and efficiently under pressure.

Profile

Minimum of 3 to 5 years professional experience in Sound Design in the video game industry. Demos will be requested.
A diploma in Sound Design is an asset.
The ideal candidate is expected to have many years experience playing video games on consoles and have acquired a good understanding of current sound quality standards;
Moreover, the ideal candidate should be a team player; have a strong sense of creativity, analysis and synthesis; be hard-working; have effective interpersonal skills; and have strong organizational skills;
The ideal candidate must also be able to easily create and understand sound environments of video games.

3D Artist – Packaging

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Working under the Artistic Director for packs/logos, you will be responsible for creating and developing 3D models for packaging. You will be directly involved in creating and producing lighting, environments, characters and high-resolution 3D objects. You must be able to respect the design uploaded by our 2D concept artists as well as the morphology of the characters, and you must be able to offer alternatives if necessary (environments, character design, etc.).
In order to accomplish this, you will also work closely with the 2D artists in charge of enhancing the packaging and reinforcing the visual impact of the 3D images.

Skills:

· Expertise in 3D modeling (3D Studio Max), Vray lighting and rendering, and character rigging.
· Expertise with using Zbrush and its texturing techniques (transferring texture and 3D model info from Zbrush to Max).
· Expertise with textures using Photoshop.
· Good drawing abilities using a graphics tablet.
· Good general knowledge in art (perspective, volume, lighting).
· Proactive and able to work independently.
· Able to work in a team.

Profile:

Portfolio demonstrating your ability to produce high-quality and refined rendering.
Fluent in English.
Design and fashion sensibility.
Up to date with technological advances in the fields of high-polygon modeling, optimization, etc.
