Head of CG in the centre of Amsterdam

About INDG (

Play is the path to genuine product engagement – which is why, for the past 15 years, we have been helping brands like Philips, Marks & Spencer, and Audi entice consumers to get to know their products through photorealistic CG visualizations, interactive 3D models, and virtual worlds. INDG’s technology allows buyers to explore coffee machines, furniture, gadgets, and more from every angle, inside and out.

We want anyone with a screen to be able to crawl inside the workings of a washing machine, dissect an electric shaver, or customize entire rooms they can “walk through” online. Through augmented reality, buyers can even see what those products would look like in the real world. Using a tablet camera, they can “hang” a virtual TV on their wall or try out a designer chair in their living room. Our CG artists and interactive designers and developers focus on making sure the pixel-by pixel perfect products merge so seamlessly and realistically into their intended environments that they reflect the ray of sunshine or the freckled light of the rain outside. Yes, at INDG we geek out to sexy technology, but behind the bits and bytes is an obsessive drive to design sophisticated and lasting digital experiences.

To help us on the challenging journey to create the most beautiful and best-performing experiences for both clients and customers, we are seeking an Amsterdam-based:

VFX Supervisor / Head of CG

Working at INDG, you’ll have millions of users around the world interacting with your team’s renders, and the success of our clients’ campaigns will depend on them – so they should be both impeccable and inspired. They need to stand up to, potentially, years of poking and prodding by curious customers.

Yes, your work should be impressive – but the real goal is simply to help people understand how things work. We need to constantly improve and build upon our special breed of CGI to meet that demanding objective, which is why we’re looking for a CG Studio head to lead this charge…someone who will step forward and take responsibility for the CGI-based output from start to finish.

Our CG teams are based in Amsterdam and Bucharest and work in three disciplines: VFX & Motion Graphics, Packshots & Illustrations, and real-time 3D assets. CG/VFX Artists and Art Directors are supported by Technical Directors who continuously work on improving our 3DsMax based workflows. Examples of challenges your teams are facing are how to best integrate CG into live action footage, creating CG that you would not be able to tell part from real-life, visualizing steam or fire in a CG oven, cloths in a washing machine, and efficiently using cutting edge technologies.

The ideal head of our CG studio should know the ins and outs of CGI creation, with an exciting portfolio of their own to share and at least some exposure to Animation or Motion Direction, and they must be passionate about guiding others to push the consumer industry’s current standards. In this role, you need to be both a hands-on creative and a visionary. You should understand your team and how to coach them to their best work. Your enthusiasm for your team’s work should be contagious, both within the team and among the clients you interact with.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Leading a VFX/CGI team of 20-25 people (in Amsterdam and Bucharest)
  • Working with the team and the Technical Director to translate client requests into products that exceed their expectations
  • Defining and protecting the quality standards of our product visualizations
  • Leading discussions about the team’s long-term style direction and goals
  • Speaking to clients and getting them excited about our visual content

Role requirements:

  • An impressive, senior-level CGI portfolio
  • Experience with art direction, leading teams or supervising projects or processes
  • Excellent creative and communication skills

What we offer:

In addition to an environment where passion for technology and creative thinking is rewarded, INDG offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including training and career-development perks.
