Senior Level Nuke Compositor

Description

Hydraulx Vancouver is currently seeking an Senior Level Compositor with high level technical skills mixed with strong artistic sensibilities to join our dynamic team immediately!

Requirements:

Able to composite multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult. Must have in depth knowledge of Nuke. Minimum of 4+ years of progressively complex experience in production or feature film preferred.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field preferred.
4+ years proven production experience in established VFX facility.
Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.

VFX Coordinator

Description

About this position:

The 2d Coordinator is responsible for the assignment and tracking of tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Facilitates the movement of shots between teams, attends and daily reviews, and communicates status updates to ensure the delivery of shots on schedule. Provides administrative support to the production management team and supervisors.

Responsibilities include:

Under the guidance of the CG Supervisor, tracks progress of tasks for assigned artists or sequences in the production tracking system.
Partners with other production personnel to ensure shots are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.
Maintains steady communication with supervisors and artists in our Los Angeles office.
Follows up with Artist Leads on a daily basis to ensure task deliveries remain on schedule; communicates any schedule changes to appropriate Artist Leads, Supervisors and Production team members as needed.
Responsible for multiple dailies sessions each day, as well as client reviews.
Taking clear and accurate notes in all dailies and review sessions, and disseminating notes to all necessary parties and within production software.
Generates and maintains production reports.
Generally providing overall production support to the production management team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field preferred.
1+ years proven production experience in established VFX facility.
Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills coupled with the ability to work within a team environment.
Strong project management skills and a sensitivity towards deadline related deliveries.
Must be able to handle multiple changing priorities in a dynamic environment and understand how this impacts departmental schedules.
Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient computer skills are required; with particular emphasis on Production Tracking Software and Asset Management, Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Office, and standard PC applications.

Senior Matte Painter

Description

Main responsibilities

• To create the 2D painted backgrounds required to complete any 3D environments, sets or scenes on the film, while working with the design and modeling departments .
• To troubleshoot and use talents in creating visually stunning backgrounds which match and marry to the film’s style and 3D requirements, using direction given by Supervisors.
• Introduce innovative visual concepts and ideas for upcoming projects. Depending on the project, concepts may be photorealistic or may contain fantastical elements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of feature film experience (or list comparable work experience).
• High level of technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop both in software familiarity and output: retouching, clean plates, image reconstruction, set extension, patches & augmentation, texture projection, etc.
• High level of organization and multiple OS familiarity (MAC/PC) a plus.
• Additional cross-disciplines welcome. Please list any such skills and experience in your resume (3D Modeling, Z-Brush, Architecture, Photography, Traditional Illustration, Graphic Design (Web and/or Print), Typography, Layout, etc.).

Skills:

• Ability to create matte paintings stylistically and / or photo realistically using 2D and 3D applications.
• Ability to integrate illustration with existing 3D environments.
• Must be able to work quickly, efficiently, and communicate well within a team environment.
• Must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must.
