The Lucasfilm Advanced Development Group (ADG) is looking for a Director, Engineering to join our team.
ADG develops tools and techniques for high-fidelity computer graphics and simulation. Our goal is to expand and enhance creative storytelling in the Star Wars universe through real-time rendering of film-quality imagery. Our work can also be seen powering many of the ILMxLAB immersive experiences.
The Director, Engineering role is responsible for the vision, strategy and execution of all engineering of technical processes and production technologies for the group. The position evaluates new and emerging technologies, and manages and directs the staff and activities of the engineering team.


• Responsible for deliverables from an engineering standards point of view.
• Coordinates what and how we deliver with business partners and internal /external production stakeholders.
• Develop and nurture Engineers as required, including driving and/or participating in training strategies, morale assessment and career development initiatives.
• Establish, publish and drive execution of a multi-year technology roadmap.
• Ensures architecture & design for all applications, tools, and technologies is extensible & reusable across multiple projects
• Define standardized development processes and metric collection, analysis, & utilization to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with other partners to align tool development and to balance long-term vs. short-term goals.
• Drive shared learning and shared solution practices.


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in the creation and delivery of state-of-the-art, performance-minded console games; 5+ of those years as a technical director or lead programmer.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Strong foundation in Game Engine Engineering.
• Game and/or GPU development experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience leading studio wide shared technology projects and development is preferred.

The Manager, Animation & Digital Assets manages and supervises the creation and delivery of animated assets from the Lucasfilm Animation Production team, Lucasfilm Animation producing partners, and production facilities. The Manager supervises the delivery of content from Lucasfilm Post Production, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) Image Unit, Skywalker Sound and other 3rd Party content creators to ensure that schedules and deadlines are met and that budgets remain on target.

• Maintain relationships and serve as department liaison with Lucasfilm Animation and their producing partners, Lucasfilm Post Production, ILM, • Skywalker Sound and other digital content providers. Participate in weekly stakeholder meetings to inform and influence big-picture asset management strategy.
• Manage and approve all requests of digital assets for all Lucasfilm Animation and Live Action properties. Effectively interfacing with requestors ranging from Lucasfilm Franchise Management to any other Disney entity (DI, DCP, etc.).
• Set department priorities, build schedules, and ensure all deadlines are being met. Anticipate all future needs that may be required by Lucasfilm and their partners and create departmental process strategies to support those needs.
• Provide creative oversight and art direction of animation special poses and final frames, ensuring adherence to brand standards and show requirements.
• Work closely with ILM Image Unit in regards to work schedules and delivery of special poses and other assets, as required.
• Responsible for creating and overseeing internal budgets and tracking the ILM Image Unit budget.
• Management of the Animation and Digital Asset team, inclusive of delegating tasks, mentoring staff, delivering performance feedback, building processes, and ensuring that good relationships are fostered between Digital Asset team and key members of the creative teams.


• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in production / post production, with 1-2 years prior management experience, as well as, expertise in understanding and prioritizing delivery schedules.
• Strong working knowledge of production techniques and terminology.
• Strong people supervisory skills including coaching & feedback. Ability to foster a teamwork environment that is both demanding and motivates employees to continually improve creative standards.
• Proven experience managing budgets of $1 million or greater.
• Demonstrates strong computer skills preferably with Database programs. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites applications and advanced level of experience with Adobe Photoshop. Proficient in Linux, Maya, Python, scripting RV, a basic understanding of the 3D scanning process and movie codes & compressions. FileMaker programming knowledge a plus.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, project management and leadership skills. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management and partners.
• Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Ability to work in an environment that has a certain degree of ambiguity as well as a complex organizational structure.

Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Details:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be an integral part of a small team reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Manager, and will be responsible for the sorting and distribution of all incoming mail, packages and freight for the Lucasfilm/Disney companies at the Presidio campus, as well as provision of various other services. The candidate must be flexible and willing to cover any assignment on an as-needed basis, with excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Receive, pick up and deliver mail, packages and freight.
• Sort and distribute incoming and interoffice mail to the appropriate Lucas companies within and outside of LDAC.
• Process outgoing shipments for all FedEx, U.S. Mail, DHL etc., including international
Receive POs in Oracle
• Assist other departments at LDAC with warehousing, event set-up, supply distribution and furniture delivery.
• Complete special projects and errands as assigned, which will be within the general scope of the qualifications required.


• Related experience
• Organized, detail-oriented, accountable; able to lift 55 lbs, Windows and computer literate, good communication skills
• Must have valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV record

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive customer service experience in fast-paced corporate environment
• Oracle 12 familiarity a plus, experience working with Fed Ex
