Job Description

The Lucasfilm Advanced Development Group (ADG) is looking for Junior LookDev Technical Director to join our team. ADG develops tools and techniques for high-quality computer graphics and simulation. Our goal is to expand and enhance the process of creative storytelling in the Star Wars universe through real-time rendering of visuals that approach motion picture quality. This position will operate within the context of well-defined procedures to create the desired look and qualities of objects, characters, effects and elements.
• Create tools that enable the desired look of assigned 3D elements during production.
• Perform directed look development tasks on production objects, effects, elements or characters.
• Develop enhancements or “fixes” to identified aspects or technologies relevant to digital art creation.
• Create shaders and tools for multiple types of 3D digital assets in a real-time rendering context.
• Work within the parameters of established monolithic materials, modify and run existing turntables, perform basic check-ins into asset management system for basic 3D digital assets.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• BA Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Graphic Art or equivalent years of experience.
• 2+ years of experience in animation, production or related field.
Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with modern game engine or similar real-time shading and rendering technology preferred.
• Experience in Computer programming/scripting , C++ and Perl preferred.
• Experience in 3D graphics and 3D animation packages. Maya preferred.
Required Skills / Competencies:
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and is able to multi-task.
• Able to work overtime

Production Finance Coordinator

Job Description

The Production Finance Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the VP, Production Finance, Director, Production Finance and Development / Post Accountant in all aspects of the production cycle (development, prep, shoot, post). The department supports multiple large budget feature film productions at any given time.
Act as liaison between production accounting teams in the field and Production Finance department
Receive, log and manage all Production Finance approvals for productions in the field
Create and distribute all deal memos for project hire accounting staff
Receive, review and route all production billbacks to the various Lucasfilm departments (marketing, publicity, franchise)
Manage signatories for all production and development controlled bank accounts
Receive, review and submit for approval, all production accounting staff requests for software access (Global Vista, PSL, ESN, Scenechronize)
Manages internal Production Finance Department files
Liaison between production accounting teams and IT for hardware and software support

Requirements

3-5 years’ experience in feature film environment, ideally at coordinator level or above.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with feature film production finance processes
Ability to create and manage schedules and timelines
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word; experience with Global Vista, PSL, SAP helpful
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of attention to detail
Team player in a fast paced environment
Willingness to learn and grow
Discretion and ability to work in highly secretive environment
Must be local to San Francisco bay area or willing to relocate

VFX Recruiter

Job Description

• Ensure high quality procedures are in place, which are in line with company policy governing recruitment and selection.
• Help build on existing systems to create Recruitment tools including job descriptions, competency profiles and offer letters to improve efficiency and develop uniformity across the organization.
• Support the further development and implementation recruitment methods in order to successfully attract top quality candidates appropriate to the position and company needs.
• Partner with global recruiting team, sharing knowledge and resources in order to effectively and efficiently fill requisitions with the best available talent.
• Provide coaching and mentoring services to managers to develop recruitment skills in addition to providing input into the matching of potential candidates to suitable positions.
• Identify, screen, interview and recommend candidates for positions.
• Actively develop and maintain applicant tracking database.
• Responsible for placing and drafting job advertisements, liaising with various sources for job advertisements, and assisting in tracking appropriate metrics like cost per hire, etc.
• Generate the necessary ad-hoc recruiting reports for hiring managers and Human Resources.
• Coordinating and organizing promotion and recruitment efforts targeting potential schools and communities.
• Assess immigration and relocation needs, obtain appropriate approvals and facilitate process as needed.
• Perform special projects as requested.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years experience in recruitment specializing in the VFX, animation and/or games industry.
• Proven organizational ability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as follow-through on multiple-projects.
• Outstanding customer service.
• Proven track record in sourcing and recruiting candidates.
• Sophisticated computer skills (Internet research/recruiting, Microsoft Word, Excel) is required.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems and workflow.
• Ability to contribute positively in a high-energy, changing environment.
• Uses a computer keyboard at least 75% of total work time.
• Ability to travel.
