Responsible for rigging, skinning and optimizing creatures, vehicles and props intended for use in real-time game engines, V.R., A.R., and virtual film productions. • Work with Producers and discipline leads to assign artists to shows based on type of work and skill set.
• Interact with Producers and Production Managers on day-to-day crew needs. Coordinate changes with Management and Producers and inform personnel of changes when necessary.
• Maintain regular status meetings with internal shows.
• Manage overall scheduling and crewing strategy across ILM Singapore, using Bodycast and Studiocast systems. Create capacity reports and scenarios regularly. Proactively collaborate with ILM SF team on overall production staffing needs.
• Partner with Production Managers to forecast current and future personnel needs based on input from Portfolio Group and Production. This includes maintaining contact with Producers regarding overall crew size requirements, crew start and end dates and show start/delivery dates as well as incorporating bidding data into facility projections. Flag potential problems in regards to any of those.

• Interfaces with ILM artists, software engineers, and production supervisors to determine artists’ training needs and develop course content.
• Creates and evaluates technical documentation for a global ILM audience.
• Trains on various vendor and proprietary software packages and monitors industry technical advances to stay current with the needs of production and the goals of the organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities in Production:

• Uses artistic and technical skills to contribute to CG asset and shot work.
• Participates as a team member in determining various design solutions.
• Provides feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
• Maintains or exceeds consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.

Requirements

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of computer graphics.
• At least 4 years work experience required in 3D CG digital animation and/or visual effects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, computer visualization, or computer animation a plus.
• Proven ability to create effective training materials for highly technical subject matter.
• Ability to train artists in the theory, operation, and application of computer graphics software.
• Ability to self-train quickly and efficiently in order to develop course material in correlation with ever-changing production needs.
• Highly skilled at fostering relationships across time-zones, providing global partners with an excellent level of service.
• Knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, Python, and C/C++, desirable.
• Experience with Shake, Nuke, or proprietary equivalent, desirable.
• Experience with Maya, 3dsMax, XSI, or proprietary equivalent, desirable.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, desirable.
• Excellent time-management and organization skills.
