Experience rigging and enveloping humanoid, quadriped, winged, other non-bipedal creatures, vehicles, and facial animation systems.
Programming skills: MEL & PYTHON
Knowledge of simulation techniques for hair, flesh, cloth, rigid bodies in 3D software packages a plus.

Job Description

Technical Directors are responsible for the lighting, rendering and basic compositing of fairly complex shots and generating FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems for feature film visual effects.
Designs and creates lighting and the look of computer generated objects and scenes.
Creates images, effects and programs for digitally composited sequences.
Responsible for compiling the various elements of a shot and seeing it through to completion.
Also designs and creates FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems.

Requirements

3-5+ years production experience or feature film experience with effects simulation work preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or computer graphics.
Advanced simulation experience with either Houdini, Maya, XSI, 3DS Max or other software, and ability to write expressions or authoring of shaders are required.
Linux and scripting ability in Python preferred, and experience in MEL highly desired; C++ skills also applicable.
Demo reel required.

Job Description

The Effects TD generates FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems for feature film visual effects. They are responsible for lighting, rendering and moderate-level compositing of complex shots with guidance from their supervisors.
Designs and creates FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems.
Light complex/multiple creatures (hairy or furry creatures) and elements.
Can set-up and wrangle heavy particle effects and enormous crowd shots.
Excellent pipeline scripting ability.
Solid compositing ability, can wrangle blue-screen extractions, working knowledge of Nuke.
Can write plug-ins, debug simulations and write set up and surface shaders with proficiency.
Can write/hack procedural surface shaders and volumetric shaders with proficiency.
Can animate moderate objects with proficiency.
Can pick-up new techniques quickly and easily and can debug just about anything.
Sets a standard for all Technical Directors in continually raising the bar for speed, quality of work and adaptability
Requirements Education / Experience:
– 3-5+ years production experience or feature film experience with effects simulation work
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or computer graphics
– Demo reel required

Required Skills / Competencies:

– Ability to work with competency, energy and enthusiasm within a team environment with minimal supervision to complete a shot.

Job Description

The 3d Generalist demonstrates a strong base of knowledge in 3d Computer Generated Imagery Creation. Successful candidates will display a high degree of proficiency in some and a varied skill level across most of the areas of model, texture, shading/look development, basic hard surface animation and FX simulation as well as the ability to composite their own work. The 3D Generalist will work both individually and within a team, with tasks ranging from completing everything on a small number of shots to working on specific tasks within a larger body of work.
Successful candidates can model, texture, shade, light, look development and composite CG images or shots, however candidates will be considered if they demonstrate themselves to be exceptional in only one area, as long as they have some experience in all others and are willing to learn.
Uses artistic and technical skills to work on all aspects of CG images or shots.
Creates high quality computer graphics within a shot using a variety of software programs, and working under the general supervision of Senior Level Artists and Digimatte Supervisors.
Participates as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions; provides feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
Expected to mentor Apprentice and Jr. Artists and must be able to assist them with their shots.
Work to meet defined milestones within a timeline.
Source suitable reference materials for required assets.
Attend dailies and participate in creative problem solving.

Requirements

Education / Experience:

– Degree or 3-5 years relevant experience (professional OR amateur) in one or more of the following fields: Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Design or Photography

Required Skills / Competencies:

– Proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, or compositing
OR
– Proven artistic ability in a non-CG field (impressive portfolio of figure drawing, landscape, animals, painting, composition, perspective, etc.)

– High level of problem solving or creative thinking skills

Technical Skills:

– Fluent in Photoshop
– Fluent in 3dsmax, Maya or similar
– Fluent in Vray or MRay or similar ray trace renderer
– Comparable software experience considered

Job Description

The Compositor combines and oversees others who combine live action and computer generated elements into visual effects shots that realize the vision and creative direction of the client and visual effects supervisor.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform all tasks associated with the compositing process, including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements and color grading.
Ability to perform digital matte painting, texture painting, or paint/roto work is a plus
Together with the Lead Compositor evaluate the creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
Complete work within the schedule while maintaining constant communication with production team and other artists.
Ability to share techniques and mentor junior level talent.

Working Practices:

Proven ability to work closely in a small team with tight schedules.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage time well.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in dealing directly with clients.

Traditional art portfolio demonstrating traditional art skills is a plus.
Experience with Maya or equivalent is a plus.

Expert knowledge of Nuke is required.
Completion of a formal education course in the Arts or Sciences.
3+ years of experience in the high-end feature film visual effects.
