Full-time, one-year appointment. Competitive salary.  Full benefits.  MFA degree or equivalent in digital arts, animation or a related discipline required.

The applicant must have advanced expertise in 3D animation with supporting experience in one or more of the following: 2D animation, stop-motion, motion graphics, concept and visual development, storyboarding, compositing, game design, interactive art, programming, physical computing or installation art.  An understanding of the basic principles and history of animation and narrative structure are required. Ideal candidates are proficient with the following software: Maya, After Effects ( and Adobe Creative Suite), Nuke, Mudbox / ZBrush. In addition, applicants must have college-level teaching or professional industry experience. Teach courses in 3D animation and related subjects in the Digital Arts division of the School of Art.  Participate in educational, professional, technical, and service activities within the Digital Arts division and in the School of Art.

The School of Art offers BFA, BA, and MFA degrees in Digital Arts with four tracks: 1) Computer Animation & Video – includes both 2D and 3D animation with a strong emphasis on 3D character animation as well as video art, motion graphics, special effects and compositing; 2) Imaging – still images informed by painting, collage and photography with a strong emphasis on expressive works and experimental printing technologies; 3) Interactive Multimedia – with an emphasis on creative art development, using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Processing for online and mobile devices; 4) Hybrid Media – including virtual environments, interactive and video installation, physical computing, and gaming. The program currently has approximately 150 undergraduate majors and 7 graduate students.

The School of Art consists of the Divisions of Art Education, Art History, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Two-Dimensional Studies and Three-Dimensional Studies. It currently has 27 tenured and tenure-track faculty and approximately 650+ undergraduate majors. The School offers BFA and BA programs in studio art and a BA program in art history.
