Job Description

The Story/Editorial Coordinator provides support to the Story, Editorial and Production Departments from the development stage through post production. They monitor the story and editorial deliveries, communicate changes and updates to ensure the schedule is adjusted, and is the principal production liaison for new dialogue for sequences currently in production.

Essential Job Functions

Ensure that all sequence changes are updated and distributed accordingly.
Ensure that all shot cards on the schedule boards are updated weekly.
Load the shot database through the Heads of Department and breakdown meetings notes and distribute accordingly.
Responsible for taking detailed notes in Story and Editorial sessions.
Update the database as the sequences change once in production.
Assist in the production of the weekly picture schedule using the information supplied by Production from the schedule boards.
Produce the weekly ‘picture schedule in brief’ for distribution to all crew.
Assist Production in the long term scheduling process by producing spreadsheets as required.
Assist the Head of Story, Directors and Production with casting Story Artists with an eye to maintaining the schedule.
Maintain and update crew lists.
Assist the production team in the smooth execution of the shooting schedule. This may include working alongside the AD’s on the studio floor, weekends and evening work.
Assist Producers and Directors with miscellaneous tasks.


B.S./B.A. in film, art or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2+ years feature film experience preferably in stop motion.
Strong communication skills with all layers of production.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Proven track record of demonstrating initiative.
Ability to work without supervision.
Experience with Filemaker, Microsoft Office, and Project Management software.
