Lead Cloth – full CG Feature film

Description

The Lead Cloth Artist is responsible for the creation of Cloth effects for 3D animated characters and the simulation of animated. He directly reports to the CFX supervisor

Responsibilities

? Create and simulate Cloth effects on 3D animated characters which meets artistic and technical direction of the project;
? Be involved in the development of tools used to achieve the Cloth effects;
? Collaborate with animators to create Cloth effects suitable for animation;
? Provide guidance to the CFX team and be able to take direction;
? Meep the schedule and production quotas.

Qualifications

? Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Cloth Artist in a film production environment, animated TV series or visual effects;
? Extensive knowledge of Maya and cloth tools ;
? Skills in animation and rigging
? Bilingual (English and French);
? Thorough, creative sense and technically well-off

CG Pipeline Technical Director

Description

The pipeline TD is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting the pipeline toolset. He directly reports to the CTO.

Responsibilities

? Work closely with the Pipeline team tio develop and maintain the production and pipeline tools;
? React to pipeline development challenges and troubleshoot solutions;
? Provide and update documentation and assist with the roll-out of new technology.

Qualification

? Expérience as a pipeline TD within VFX, gaming or animation studio;
? Well versed in Python and Linux and knowledge of PySide/PyQt is an asset;
? Strong command of Maya and solid knowledge of Nuke, Arnold and Shotgun;
? Experience with large-scale production pipelines, including render farm management;
? Team spirit and great problem-solving skills;
? Interpersonal and communication skills.

CG Co-Supervisor

Description

Within his terrific brand new full CG feature film, Mikros Image Canada is looking for a talented CG Co-Supervisor.
The Co-CG Supervisor, in collaboration with CG Supervisor, the Director, the production Designer and the Producer, ensures both technical and stylistic quality needed to achieve the desired Look of a Full CG feature film. He oversees the shots and the following departments: Final layout, FX, lighting, compositing.

Responsibilities

? Work closely with CG supervisor to define the project’s quality (technical and creative)
? Work with the Line Producer and producer to define recruiting goals to achieve the appropriate balance of qualified personnel.
? Coordinate the different departments supervisors to ensure the production’s performance (image quality, schedule and quotas)

Qualifications

? Serious knowledge in Maya, Katana, Arnold , Nuke and Shotgun(Essential)
? Excellent interdepartmental communication skills ( CG Producer, the artistic department and with the “floor team”)
? High sense of communication especially with the directors, Line producer , the Art Department and with the “ floor team”
? Completely bilingual (French/English)
? Should have completed one CGI animation movie as a CG sup.
? Capacity to respect tight deadlines
? A good knowledge and experience in all areas of 3D (modeling, rigging, texturing, look development, environments, creature FX, lighting and FX)

Lighting-comp Artist – Full CG feature film

Description

After “Mune, The Moon Guardian”, “Astérix : le domaine des Dieux” and “The Little Prince”, Mikros Image Canada is now working on “Sahara” a new animation film coproduced by Mandarin Cinema, Transfilm International and realized by Pierre Coré.
The light- comp artist create direct and reflecting lighting as well as shot composition that meet creative direction of the film.

Responsibilities

• Light and compose shots that meet project’s requirements
• Ensure and maintain the expected render quality and style across the show
• Execute the corrections requested by the Supervisor;
• Work closely with others departements;
• Meet production quotas and communicate with the Ligthing Supervisor when issues arise

Qualifications

• 3+ year’s lighting experience on a VFX film or CG animated project;
• Strong working knowledge of various software platforms including Maya, Nuke, Katana and Arnold;
• Good understanding of modelling, texturing, shading, lighting, compositing and rendering workflows;
• Ability to execute complex 3D lighting scenes including working with layers and passes, doing complex comps and optimizing scenes and renders;
• Knowledge of the structure of 3D production pipelines;
• Be a team player with high interpersonal and communication skills
