3D Visualisation Supervisor
The 3D Visualisation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production of architectural visualizations, including both still images and animations, ensuring renders are created to the quality and standards required by the client and Modelcraft management.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent artistic and technical knowledge and have a keen eye for detail and shot composition. An excellent in-depth knowledge of 3ds Max, V-Ray, Photoshop and After Effects is required.
You will have several years experience as a 3D/CGI artist and/or visualizer, producing and delivering superior quality exterior and interior stills and animations. 3D Animation and traditional art skills are not required but will be a bonus.
The digital department produces a wide variety of digital media and experience with projection mapping, Unity, AR, VR, Kinect, 3D displays and holographics are highly desirable. The ability to script and code are not required but would be desirable. You will have experience supervising a team of modelers, artists and animators, preferably within the architectural visualization industry.
You must also have experience in managing a remote production resource and have an in depth knowledge of the processes, issues, communication considerations and methodology of supervising it effectively. You will be comfortable working to deadlines both within a team environment and individually. You will be pro-active, good at solving problems and have the ability to work well with a diverse team of professionals with nationalities of all types. You will be punctual, presentable, self-motivated, able to communicate effectively, and inspire those around you.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal duties and responsibilities of the 3D Visualisation Supervisor are as, but are not limited to:
Provide technical and artistic supervision within the digital department, supervising all modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, effects and post production.
You must have detailed knowledge on how to model, texture, light and render large scale civil engineering projects such as university campuses, smart cities, technology/business parks and whole new cities. This requires an advanced knowledge on how to read and interpret architectural data packages including check incoming packages for suitability and providing a list of missing or additional data required to complete a project.
Have a hands on approach, getting involved in all aspects of production when required, with a particular focus on post processing, post production and editing.
Take responsibility for the scheduling and allocation of work packages to remote production resources in order to achieve production goals.
Ensuring the smooth delivery and running of production, achieving consistently high standards of final rendered images and animations.
Interpreting the artistic vision of the storyboard and job brief and providing art direction to ensure the images and animations produced match the concept.
Specify production pipelines to ensure efficient shot production and supervise their implementation.
Keeping up to date with industry trends, new software and new techniques that will speed up and/or improve production.
Ensure that all work is of a high standard both artistically and technically.
Download and check all test render files, following our QC procedure and communicating effectively with clients to produce mark up documents for production to correct.
Issuing of instruction to proceed to final render with a list of required render passes.
Download final renders files and apply the required post processing, post production and/or editing ready for delivering to the client.
Technically assisting the Digital Manager in quote preparation by giving recommendations on techniques, available/required resources and estimated time scales.
Checking consistency and accuracy of receivables and advising the Digital Manager of any issues.
Maintaining and updating project program and resource schedule throughout project life.
Updating the Digital Manager on project progress and resource surplus / shortfalls.
Advising the Digital Manager on resource implications on client / internal feedback.
Ensuring company standard ISO documentation and procedures are followed.
Communicating effectively and regularly with the Digital Manager.
Communicating with MC Dubai & MC Shanghai as per Modelcraft standard procedures.
Provide technical feedback to production staff and digital team on work in progress.
Passing client (job related) feedback on to production staff and digital team.
Passing internal feedback on to production staff and digital team.
Reporting digital workstation IT issues to IT manager and Digital Manager.
Reporting render farm IT issues to IT manager and Digital Manager.
Updating and maintaining asset library and archive.
Ensuring file management standard procedures are adhered to.
Passing finished projects to Marketing for marketing purposes and inclusion in the company brochure.
Occasionally attend training, meetings, conferences or other client or corporate based events as required.
Other duties which may reasonably arise.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BA/BSc graduate with major in 3D Art, 3D Animation, Architecture or any related field.
Preferably with 05 years experience as a 3D/CGI artist and/or visualizer.
Preferably with 02 years experience as a 3D/CGI supervisor.
Experience with managing remote and offsite production resources is required.
3D modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering skills are required.
Image and animation post processing, post production and editing skills are required.
Traditional art skills would be desirable.
Animation skills including environments, vehicles and characters would be desirable.
Scripting and Coding skills would be desirable.
Experience with projection mapping, Unity, AR, VR, 3D displays and/or holographic technology would be desirable.
Experience with compositing software such as Nuke would be desirable.
Arabic language skills would be desirable, although not essential.
