For Ukrainian 3D animation feature film we are currently looking for TDs.

Payments and work conditions:

Salary for TDs position starts from 2000 USD and vary according to skills and experience level.
Regular 40 hours week.

Head of 3D Department

1)Hierarchy:

• Submission: CG superviser, production designer
• Management: Leads of 3D departments (Modeling TD, Layout TD etc)
• Interactionall CG departments

2) Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement 3D part of production pipeline
• Problem statement for all TDs in 3D department
• Problem solving on any stage of 3D process
• Provide technical documentation with description of 3D pipeline

3) Requirments:

• A least 5 years of production experience on similar projects on key position
• Fluent in Maya, Python, MEL, Arnold, Yeti etc etc
• Awesome communication and management skills

Head of 2D Department (lead compositor)

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: CG superviser, production designer
• Management: compositing artists
• Interactionall Lighting and rendering department

2) Responsibilities:

• Develop compositing pipeline
• Develop custom tools for Nuke
• Provide technical documentation with description of 2D pipeline

3) Requirments:

• A least 5 years of production experience on similar projects as lead compositor
• Fluent in Nuke, Python
• Strong 3D background

Modeling TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D, production designer
• Management: 3D modelers and texture artist
• Interaction: Riging department, layout department, pipeline department, rendering department

2) Responsibilities:

• Provide creative realization of concept and sketches in 3D world as assets and environments.
• Problem statement for modeling team, supervising creation of digital assets and environments.
• Distribute modeling tasks through modelling team.
• Control quality and execution terms of modelling and texturing tasks.
• Problem statement for creating modeling/sculpting/texturing custom tools
• Provide technical documentation with description of modeling/sculpting/texturing techniques and tools

3) Requirments:

• At least 5 years of production.
• Strong understanding of modeling principles, workflow and modern techniques, good technical background.
• Excellent 3D modeling, texturing and sculpting skills proven in portfolio.
• Expert in Maya and Zbrush
• Strong human and animals anatomy knowledge
• Good eye for detail and basic understanding of animation and rigging.
• Good technical knowledge of Maya and Zbrush, ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Degree in art is a plus.
• Team work, communication and time management skills

Layout TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D
• Management: layout artist
• Interaction: pipeline department, rendering department, animation department, 2D department

2) Responsibilities:

• Create environments from assets and props, put characters and cameras in place to make a shots.
• Distribute tasks through layout team and control execution.
• Problem statement for pipeline TD to make custom tools for automate layout workflow
• Provide technical documentation with description of layout pipeline

3) Requirements:

• You are an artistic person with strong technical background
• Degree in art is a plus.
• Fluent in Maya
• Team work, communication and time management skills

Animation and Rigging TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D
• Management: riggers
• Interaction: layout department, pipeline department, rendering department, lead animator

2) Responsibilities:

• Create characters and props setup pipeline according to animators requirements
• Create rigs and refine them according to animation and baking needs.
• Create non-linear animation pipeline (using poses and animation clips).
• Distribute modeling tasks through modelling team.
• Problem statement for rigging team, supervising character setup.
• Creation of custom tools for riggers and animators with python
• Supply correct baking(export-import with alembic) of character and props animation.
• Provide technical documentation with description of rigging techniques and tools

3) Requirements:

• At least 5 years of production experience and specialization, proven in portfolio.
• Expert in Maya and Python
• A passion for creating believable CG characters and the requisite attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of anatomy for bipeds and quadrupeds, skeletons and muscles
• A good understanding of constraints and deformers, how they work and their limitations
• Team work, communication and time management skills

FX TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D, production designer
• Management: FX artists
• Interaction: pipeline department, Lighting and rendering department

2) Responsibilities:

• Design, create, implement and bake effects (dust, fire, smoke, debris, clouds, etc.)
• Cloth, hair, fur creation and baking
• Problem statement for FX team, supervising creation of effects.
• Provide technical documentation with description of FX techniques and tools

3) Requirments:

• At least 5 years of production experience and specialization, proven in portfolio.
• Expert in Maya nCloth, nDynamics, Fluids, nParticles
• Strong in Python and Mel expressions
• Team work, communication and time management skills

Ligthting and Rendering TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D, production designer
• Management: Lighting artists, rendering artists
• Interaction: layout department, pipeline department

2) Responsibilities:

• Look development of characters, props and environments.
• Lighting environments according to concept arts
• Create lighting templates for characters in environments
• Distribute and manage tasks through lighting and rendering team.
• Provide technical documentation with description of lighting and rendering techniques and tools

3) Requirments:

• At least 5 years of production experience and specialization, proven in portfolio.
• Strong art background, good in photography, ideally art education.
• Strong technical knowledge in lighting, rendering and modelling, Python knowledge is a plus.
• Expert in Maya and Arnold

Pipeline TD

1) Hierarchy:

• Submission: Head of 3D, production designer
• Management: pipeline developers
• Interactionall CG departments

2) Responsibilities:

• Create system for flexible data exchange between various CG departments (modeling, layout, animation, FX, rendering)
• Develop custom tools for artists
• Provide technical documentation with description of 3D pipeline and custom tools

3) Requirments:

• Expert in Maya, familiar with Nuke
• Expert in Python and MEL
• Deep understanding of CG workflow and baking process
