Environment Texture Artist/Hi-Res Surface Sculptor

Sculpt and paint textures required for rendering physically based game environments. Construct shaders using a defined in-house material editor. Perform UV layout for tiling and 0-1 mapped textures. Match art styles defined by the art director/concept art. Collaborate closely with 3D modelers and game designers. Work with graphics programmers and technical artist to support the development of new systems and techniques. Work with the tools team to convey needs and generate tool requests to improve artists’ workflow. Manage texture and shader efficiency.
Four (4) years of experience as an Environment or Texture Artist, or in a related occupation.
In alternative, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphic Art, or a related field, plus two (2) years of experience as an Environment or Texture Artist, or in a related occupation is acceptable.
Require experience in the following areas:
1. Sculpt and paint 3D and 2D images
2. Sculpt surfaces details and control shader features to represent a wide variety of material types
3. Ability to create proper UV layout and tiling textures for games
4. Working experience with shader networks
5. Working experience with banking textures from high res meshes
6. Maya and Brush skills.
