Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (Art Tool)

Description

NetherRealm Studios seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team responsible for fully supporting our art production tools. We are seeking a forward thinking Self-starter with a passion for advancing technologies. Strong communications, problem solving and analytical skills are a must for this position. Additionally a general understanding of hardware and software trouble shooting/support and the familiarity with the major game consoles and industry standard content creation software’s is desired, (Unreal, Maya, MotionBuilder, 3ds Max, Photoshop…. Senior Facial Animator

Quality Assurance Analyst

Description

NetherRealm Studios is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team. Must be able to use test documentation, execute test cases, track defects, and report results. Must possess a flexible and personable approach in a team environment and must be comfortable interacting with other internal and external team members on short and long-term term projects. Ideal candidates will be able to quickly assess oddities and inconsistencies and present them to team leads as concise, reproducible tickets in a managed database. Applicants should have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst.

Bug Reporting- Find and report bugs in code, assets and tools. Research and properly update and assign bugs written by other members of the development team. Identify development resources needed to fix bugs. Track bugs to closure. Escalate issues as appropriate, and identify issues that are not following the proper track within the database.
Build Assessments – Smoke test code and critical assets prior to release to the rest of the development team. Make determinations based on discovered issues regarding whether or not a given set of code and assets should be released to the rest of the development team.
Team Support – Support the Lead in their daily responsibilities as requested. Analyze departmental challenges being encountered by team members due to process or tools and develop creative solutions and workarounds. Identify causes for potential quality loss or scheduling delay and escalate as needed.
Internal Tools – Utilize QA tools to expose different testable areas of the game, expedite testing, and manage the Live player environments. Educate other team members in the use of these tools.

What do we require from you?

NetherRealm Studios seeks a Senior Software Engineer to implement cutting-edge tools and engine features that help ensure that the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises are industry leaders.

As a member of our studio’s KoreTech team you will be expected to take on difficult problems, and in collaboration with you colleagues, plan and implement innovative solutions. Working on console platforms and also in our editing tools will require developing for fast user iteration cycles and an awareness of 60hz performance constraints.

What part will you play?

We are seeking a Senior Producer to be responsible for overseeing the development team on one or more AAA mobile projects. This position supports the leads and assists the team by managing and executing a variety of tasks related to developing AAA mobile games. This position should be the pivotal person for information on the projects, and when something needs to get done they should know how to navigate the waters to achieve results.

The ideal candidate has previously led internal and external games development teams and shipped successful mobile games.

Work with studio management and leads to establish and maintain the game’s vision, feature set, scope, staffing plan, schedule and budget.

Interested in being in the trenches, involved with day to day decisions, while also being aware of the high-level vision.

Senior Characters Artist

SUMMARY OF POSITION

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks a Senior Character Artist who will be responsible for creating character materials of the highest quality. This person will work closely with the Lead Character Artist along with the Art Director to create and maintain the highest quality assets for the game, and ensure that the aesthetic goals are met.

Generate high resolution models, low resolution models, textures and Physically Based materials for Unreal Engine

Art FX Lead

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc. seeks a Lead FX Artist who will be responsible for creating, as well as leading an FX team in creating, FX assets of the highest quality while working on one or more AAA projects the studio may be developing. This person will work closely with the Director of Art to ensure aesthetics quality is kept at the highest bar. This person will also be responsible for developing and implementing a production schedule in collaboration with the assigned Producer. When needs for the project dictate, the Lead FX Artist will collaborate with the Outsourcing Manager to augment the internal team with one or more outsourcing partners to complete all required FX related assets.

The Lead FX Artist will work directly with FX team members, other art leads, and with internal technical departments to spearhead R&D for tools and technology development targeted as successfully delivering on the evolving needs of the products. Likewise, the Lead FX Artist will look at improving internal workflows and processes to optimize our internal development while delivering against the aesthetic aspirations set by the Director of Art.

Collaborate with assigned Producer in day-to-day tasking of assignments to members of the FX team.
Project future team production capabilities based on historical performance and potential approaches
Ensure clear communication of aesthetic targets for the FX team as established by the Director of Art and in collaboration with the staff FX artist(s)
Ensure FX team goals are coordinated across FX artists working on disparate sub-disciplines
Communicate with other leads to ensure coordination between the FX art team and other discipline teams
Use industry standard 2D and 3D packages as well as proprietary tools to create FX assets for assigned development projects
Assets will vary from simple particle systems to complex interactive or gameplay-driven FX

Creates training materials and construction examples that can serve as training tools for onboarding junior FX artists
Collaborate with staff FX artists on developing “best practices” for asset creation

What do we require from you?
Five or more years of art and design experience on at least three shipped game titles required
One or more years as a team lead, preferably on a current-gen console development
Must possess good artistic skills and a working knowledge of 2D/3D art production

Should have strong working knowledge of authoring tools for real-time particle systems?—Experience with Unreal 3 and Cascade preferred

Systems Designer

NetherRealm Studios seeks a Systems Designer to be responsible for significant contributions to game design, with a focus on a Large Economy and Reward Systems. Work with the Lead Designer and fellow Designers to design, implement and maintain several Economy Systems, Meta Design Goals and content design for various game modes. Responsible for game wide implementation of complex systems, including logic, data analysis, play test and balance. Collaborate with programmers to ensure effective integration of game design, art, animation, and technology. Troubleshoot design elements; implement bug fixes and iterations based on need. Implement design revisions throughout the development process to ensure design integrity. Work with the testing department throughout the project to ensure the game plays and performs as intended. Focus on system clarity, usability and difficulty balancing and maintenance of player challenges.

Work with Lead Designer to design and implement large economy system as well as meta and reward systems within various modes. Work with cross discipline groups to implement and polish systems.
Helps create and maintain living design documentation that keeps pace with the project’s progress and accurately conveys all necessary information to Design, Art, and Programming.
Gather feedback from team and focus test groups then implement adjustments and new ideas.
Work closely with UX to expose player to needs of the above systems
