CG supervisor

Job description:

The CG Supervisor, in collaboration with the VFX supervisor as well as the leads of the different Art, Production and CG departments, determines the technical approach needed to achieve the desired look and behavior of the assets in a VFX production using computer animated graphics within the agreed upon pipeline for the production.

This includes developing, maintaining (or approving) 3D techniques. Works with Comp Supervisor to ensure quality levels of 3D renders are maintained. Works with the CG team leads to recruit, guide, train and supervise as necessary. Works with the Project Coordinator and Producer to facilitate scheduling of artists and resources. Works with the VFX Supervisor to provide artistic and technical notes to the 3D team. R&D of 3D elements and techniques from concept to production deployment is also part of this role.

Responsabilities:

Team Building:

View reels / recommend artists for interview.
Interview candidates.
Recommend candidates for hiring in consultation with leads and VFX Supervisor.
Identify and recommend leads to Production and VFX Supervisor.

Team Training:

Ensure leads are fluent with production techniques.
Define crew training plans with leads.
Oversee training of new team members.
One-on-one training with team members.
Assist leads where necessary with training.

Team Guidance:

Facilitate production needs of every team member.
Correct and caution team members as necessary.

R&D:

Test new techniques and technology as necessary.

Knowledge of any other software used in CG production an asset.

Compositing Supervisor

As a Compositing Supervisor you’ll be in charge of the studio’s compositing department. You’ll serve as creative and technical compositing lead as well as manage productivity and performance of compositors. You’ll be responsible for delivering final composited shot to production within the schedule while maintaining a constant communication with other production teams and artists.

Perform all tasks associated with the compositing process, including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements and color grading.

I/O – Technical support assistant

Newbreed Visual Effects, a growing fast paced company is looking for I/O – Technical support assistant. This is a short term job that could lead to permanent employment.

Job Description:

The I/O Technical support Assistant will work under the supervision the IT department. Working closely with production, the I/O tech will be tasked with for treating and preparing the digital assets to use internally and sent to our clients. They will also work with the IT department to provide supplemental technical support for production as needed.

Applicants for this position must possess a high level of professionalism, be meticulous in their tasks and willing to work a flexible schedule (as needed by production and IT).

Responsibilities:

Working with production, sends and receives digital data / assets for Newbreed Visual Effects.
Processes, treats and converts digital data that will be used by production and /or clients.
Places digital data /assets received by clients into the required project directories.
Performs monitor calibrations to ensure that the company monitors meet required specifications.
Provides frequent updates to production on the status of data sent to and received from clients.
Manages the inventory of the FTP server (files and folders) to ensure that only the correct data is on the server.
Manages the company inventory of external drives to maintain a record of what is sent to and received from clients.

Job description: The role of the VFX Line Producer is to provide and frequently adapt a detailed plan for the delivery of a project to the visual effects producer, supervisors and individual artists.

Responsabilities:

Plan facility resources with the visual effects producer, supervisor and facility resource manager to create an effective approach to the visual effects work

Qualifications and requirements:

Project management – experience with MS Project or similar is essential.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Know-how to manage artists and clients.
Experience of working as a line producer within a production driven environment.
Proven in project management to a high level.
Organised and methodical in their approach to the work.
Clear in their planning with artists, supervisors and clients.
Capable of motivating and leading teams with enthusiasm.
Calm and personable under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.
