FX Artist/TV

Design, animate, light and composite high quality FX into completed shots
Design and build expression-based FX rigs
Build and maintain MEL and Python based tools to support the FX pipeline.

Qualifications

Complete understanding of Maya dynamics, including particles, nParticles, nCloth, rigid bodies, soft bodies and fluid systems.
Minimum 2 years experience working within a 3D production pipeline. TV production experiences a plus.
Advanced knowledge in rendering, including experience using V Ray and building V Ray shading networks.
Advanced knowledge of MEL. Experience in Python a plus.
Experience in advanced compositing and knowledge of Nuke or other node based compositing software.
Experience in Real Flow.
Experience in Particle Illusion a plus.
Must be available to work on site in Glendale, CA.

Senior Trainer (FX & Lighting)

The Senior Trainer is responsible for providing tools and workflow training mainly in Character FX, FX Lighting and other back end departments.

This trainer will work closely with production departments to get working knowledge of production tool, workflow and pipeline, as well as technique and aesthetic skills in production. Trainer will have opportunity to work with DreamWorks Animation education department to get practical knowledge on training content development and delivery.

Duties andResponsibility

Instructing or facilitate live, online or time-shift training in curriculum areas of pre-production, continued education, special projects and operational skills
Design, create and deliver exercises relevant to each department’s education curriculum
Improve and refine training content dynamically to meet departments’ request
Assist training manager in managing training material and assets
Facilitate production subject matter experts (SME) in the developing and delivering various training approach.

Qualifications

A degree in computer science, computer graphics, engineering, art or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in Games or Animation production
Working knowledge of Maya fx, Maya particles, fluids and volumetric
Computer Graphic (lighting technique, shader and rendering) and compositing techniques and theory, in addition to node based approaches to compositing
Strong knowledge of Nuke and Houdini
Ability to script in python or pyMel in Maya
Strong presentation skills
-Strong problem solving and knowledge sharing ability

Bilingual a plus (Mandarin/English)
Prior experience in the field of training and development and/or as a classroom instructor a plus
Interest in education and talent development a plus

Storyboard Artist (TV)

Responsible for ensuring that the storyboards align with the outline / script and the Director’s vision and feedback.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with creative department heads to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns, timelines and complexity given parameters of the schedule.
Ensure storyboards align with the creative goals of the leadership team and encompass storytelling objectives.
Work closely with creative department heads to discuss issues, address questions and ensure optimum collaboration.
Pitch thumbnails or roughs to director and creative department heads
Work in conjunction with animatic editor to ensure that the rough animatic includes all appropriate poses prior to the animatic pitch.
Ensure that production staff and creative department heads are aware of status of assignments and any concerns about meeting deadlines or shifts in schedule. Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule.
Responsible for ensuring that the vision and style of the show is consistent and adhered to across all episodes in the storyboards.
Submit work that appropriately aligns with production requirements and workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage).

Qualifications

Ability to align with style of show.
Strong knowledge of staging and composition skills. Ability to draw characters on model.
Knowledge of software and hardware, including Cintiq and Photoshop or other applicable storyboarding software
Able to write clear and specific direction on storyboards
Solid and consistent time-management skills
Work well under pressure
Minimum of 2 – 3 years storyboard experience and/or training on a similar show; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

BA/BS preferred

Storyboard Revisionist (TV)

Responsible for storyboard cleanup in terms of revisions and additions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Director to review storyboards. Ask questions, clarify notes and ensure storyboard revisions are adhered to per feedback provided.
Work closely with creative department leads to ask questions and discuss issues
Responsible for ensuring that storyboards align with creative ambitions, vision, and style for each episode.
Ensure that post-animatic storyboard includes all final dialog, backgrounds, direction, and action.
Ensure production staff and creative department heads are in sync on status.
Ensure deadlines are consistently met and alert appropriate production staff if deadline is in jeopardy.

Qualifications

Ability to align accurately to style of the show
Strong drawing and mechanical skills
Strong time-management skills
Works well under pressure
Solid design software/hardware knowledge and ability to come up to speed on new tools and technologies.
BA/BS preferred, or 1-2 years storyboard revision experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Polished presentations, superb communication skills and an ability to navigate across complex organizations required. This position is based in Glendale, CA and reports to the Head of New Media Business Development.

Responsibilities

Work with internal and external partners to evaluate, develop, and implement strategic opportunities at the intersection of technology and media:
Business Development, Maintain a current awareness of trends in the competitive marketplace, and assist in keeping senior stakeholders informed. Coordinate agendas, drive exploratory discussions, evolve relationships, and help structure agreements. Use market trends, case studies, and other research to create and deliver persuasive pitch presentations and market updates.
Deal Analysis and Negotiation
Create models, forecasts, and financial valuations to inform structuring and negotiations of prospective deals. Manage key portions of due diligence for prospective transactions and strategic initiatives.
Operations – Work with a broad range of constituents to implement, integrate, and provide ongoing support for transactions and strategic initiatives after close.
Special Projects – Manage strategic and valuation analyses on an ongoing and an ad-hoc basis.

Qualifications

6+ years work experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience in media or entertainment corporate development, venture capital, investment banking, or consulting
Familiarity and strong interest in new media technology and distribution platforms, and experience with complex deal structuring
Experience navigating complex organizations
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop strong working relationships inside and outside of DWA
MBA preferred

Experience navigating complex organizations
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop strong working relationships inside and outside of DWA
MBA preferred
