This super organized Line Producer is the facilitator between the Director, Producer and client in ensuring the creative vision of the project can be achieved with the budget abd schedule. PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Works with Producer(s) to prepare budgets, schedules and production plans.
Works with production accounting to monitor budgets and financial reports.
Evaluates script breakdowns to assess and assign cost of creative production.
Conducts meetings with team leads to ensure continued progress.
Defines and implements the production resources necessary to support the creative needs of the project.
Partners with talent development to hire crew.
Communicates with department heads to asses day to day project requirements.
Ability to flag potential problems and provide solutions to fix them.
Responsible for obtaining and negotiating with vendors.
Supports and integrates the values of Rainmaker that being a commitment to innovation, creativity, professionalism and inspiration.
Interacts respectfully and professionally with colleagues, other staff members, partners and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

University degree or equivalent preferred.
6-7 years of industry experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of animation and CG production pipeline, including pre-production and post production.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Exceptional communication skills are required as well as the diplomacy to balance the creative expectations with the financial resources available.
Must be solutions oriented.
Open to and encourages feedback and new initiatives.
Solid work ethic and positive attitude.
Flexibility and strategic thinking will be necessary.
Must act with determination and fortitude when tackling the unexpected.

Production Manager

We are looking for a strong, well Production Manager who has experience working with Producers, Associate Production Managers and Coordinators to oversee the day-to-day operations on the floor. You should be a “Pro” at tracking a team’s daily progress, assigning tasks and providing reports back to the Producer to ensure our client’s timelines are achieved on schedule. PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Works with producer to assign crew tasks and monitor crew output.
Tracks quota and output from one department to the next.
Daily reviews of production status in all departments to ensure deadlines are being met.
Prepares and distributes production departmental reports.
Daily production meeting with associate production managers to address and resolve current issues.
Manages team resources to ensure everyone has the proper tools at all times.
Forecasts delays and shortfalls which in turn need to be communicated to producers.
Takes notes during director approval reviews including design, asset, sweatbox, and animation.
Oversees production materials to ensure they are tracked and recorded.
Collects and reviews timesheets for accuracy.

CG Supervisor

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Under the guidance of the Director and Art Director (pending production set up it may also include Production Designer and/or Visual Effects), the CG Supervisor is responsible for setting up a flexible and robust CG pipeline which can involve the creation of proprietary tools.
Facilitates technical aspects of animation production, including rigging, animation, lighting and FX.
Technically interprets the Director’s vision to the team.
Advises and supports the Director to ensure that the highest quality of animation is being achieved while adhering to the budget and schedule.
Works closely with the production management team to ensure all pipeline requirements are working efficiently in order to facilitate the artists’ and TDs’ needs and enable them to fulfill their quotas.
Collaborates with other Supervisors to facilitate and ensure that the various departmental requirements/needs are met in terms of technical, artistic, workflow, etc.
Oversees the daily activities of Technical Directors on the production and casts them based on their strengths and expertise.
Helps determine and schedules resource requirements with members of Production, Technical and Software departments in order to facilitate workflow efficiency.
Along with technical ability, they also have a strong aesthetic sense.
Provides additional technical support and training to production teams as needed.
Supervises the technical team leads, providing clear direction and leadership.
Evaluates and recommends relevant external shaders/plugins/scripts.
Attends regular production and department meetings. Attends shot review sessions as needed.
Communicates with key stakeholders and team members any relevant information that assists in providing a clear strategy moving forward or helps with decision making.
Interacts with commercial vendors with respect to technical issues affecting proprietary tools, etc.
Maintains contacts with academia/industry to keep current on new research and industry trends.
Adheres to digital file management protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Degree in fine arts, computer science or equivalent experience required.
Advanced degree in mathematics, physics or related disciplines is an asset.
6+ years of production experience, with prior experience managing and supervising a large group is required.
Prior experience as a CG Supervisor is an asset.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Expertise in Maya, Mental Ray, Nuke and CG production methodology.
Outstanding artistic skills; demonstrable ability to make creative and aesthetic judgment calls.
Must have a thorough knowledge of colour theory and lighting techniques.
Thorough knowledge of UNIX/Linux, procedural and object-oriented programming languages is an asset.
Ability to communicate creative and technical concerns and ideas to the Producer and/or the client.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. Practices attentive and active listening. Incorporates feedback and direction received from the Producer, Art Director and/or the Studio CG Supervisor.
Highly motivated. Solid work ethic and positive attitude. Able to work under pressure. Self motivated and pro-active. Consistently strives to expand knowledge base.
