We currently have an opening for a Department Manager, Element Quality Control.

Based in the Toronto, Ontario studio of Stereo D, this position is responsible for the supervision of Element QC Department in the role of a production leader, a department that deals exclusively with the support and integration of VFX work provided by external vendors and clients, to support Stereo D’s conversion process.
Responsible for supervising and scheduling a team of VFX QC artists, depending on the needs of given projects.
Ensuring that priorities are properly managed between multiple projects, and directing the department to align with both overall studio and individual show expectations.
Working alongside a team lead and overseeing production coordinators to ensure that all shots on a given project are properly tracked and accounted for.
Observing and reporting the status of the department’s overall inventory to generate daily department reports for Producers and Creative Directors.
Serve as the liaison for the Element QC Department, Internal Producers and Creative Directors, and External Clients and Vendors to ensure that communication flows clearly between corresponding departments.
Field questions and requests from Internal Production teams and provide the necessary solutions.
Step in to cover any duties normally handled by a production coordinator, to provide additional coverage when necessary.
Work closely with staff in multiple locations including Burbank, CA office

4+ years proven production experience in project management or supervision on feature film projects at an established VFX or feature animation facility.
Thorough understanding of CG production pipelines, software packages and post-production is essential.
Bachelor’s degree in film, art, communications or related field.
Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail coupled with exceptional people skills and the ability to motivate within a team environment.
Must be able to handle multiple changing priorities in a dynamic environment and understand how this impacts departmental schedules.
Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have a valid passport and be available for short-term travel, if required
Proficient computer skills are required; with particular emphasis on Production Tracking Software and Asset Management, Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Office, and standard Apple/MAC applications.
Knowledge of Nuke is very helpful.
Knowledge and understanding of stereoscopic production and 2D/3D conversion a plus.
