If you’ve watched prime-time TV or spent any time online in the past 30 years, you’ve experienced our work with clients including Apple, Coca-Cola, ESPN, M&M’S, Kellogg’s, Honda, Planters and Frito Lay.
LAIKA/house’s Stop Motion Stage Intern will gain valuable hands-on production experience and training by working 40 hours a week with our skilled professionals, who are renowned for their stop-motion animation expertise. The Stop Motion Stage Intern will work with artists who prep/program motion control rigs, light sets and assist camera.
Essential Job Functions
Work closely with the Director and DP to establish lighting for stop motion sets and puppets.
Under the supervision of the DP, prep motion control rigs and align equipment for animation. Program camera moves using the Kuper System.
Assist DP with camera setups. Launch and publish shots using stage capture systems.
Set up and shoot assets for still photography.
Prep stages for live action shoots.
Wrap, clean, and organize equipment on stages and grip area.
Communicate effectively with art department and production teams.
General maintenance on equipment.
Adhere to rigorous safety standards.
Actively safeguard LAIKA/house’s Proprietary and Confidential Information.
Completed Junior year or has graduated within the last two years with a Bachelor’s degree in Animation or Filmmaking.
Good sense of color, with an eye for perspective, composition and lighting.
Extensive knowledge of digital camera equipment and technology.
Working knowledge of Dragonframe and Kuper.
Experience working on-set with shoot crews.
Able to work both collaboratively and independently.
Open to taking direction and able to embrace change.
Exhibit a strong attention to detail, communication skills, a great attitude, and work ethic.
