Tippett Creative Internship Program 2013

Tippett Creative Internship Application 2013

Are you a high school student searching for an opportunity to turn your creativity, interest in film, passion for animation, and digital media skills into action? This might be the internship for you! You’ll learn how visual effects and animation work, build marketable job skills, and leave with a unique and amazing piece to add to your portfolio and educational accomplishments.

Part design studio, part lecture series, part hands-on filmmaking boot camp, this program gives YOU the chance to learn and create alongside Tippett Studio’s legendary team of artists and animators. Students accepted into the Tippett Creative Internship Program will spend 5 days behind-the-scenes at Tippett Studio, an Academy Award winning visual effects studio located in Berkeley, California. You’ll meet and interact with filmmakers and artists, forming invaluable connections and networking ties. From start to finish, we’ll guide you through the process of turning your own ideas into real displays of video and digital media. Your work will be reviewed and critiqued by professionals in the industry, and shared on the internet in places that YOU help determine! You’ll also have a blast forming friendships with Tippett Studio artists and other students who share your passions. And oh yeah, the San Francisco Bay Area isn’t a bad place to spend a week of your summer!

Artists and educators will provide daily talks, demonstrations, and tutorials, as well as making themselves available for troubleshooting and advice. No specialized software or equipment is required; Tippett Studio will provide the tools and programs you need to immerse yourself in this wonderful opportunity.

Participants will be expected to travel to the San Francisco East Bay for this program. Transportation and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

Certificates of completion will be awarded to youth who successfully complete the program. Participants will be expected to take leave from concurrent activities or programs they are engaged in during this internship, if those activities interfere with TCIP requirements and expectations.
