Timing, Spacing and Rhythm in Animation
Its Purpose to describe weight, create liveliness and believability to your animation.
Time – How long does it take to go from point A to point B?
Spacing – How are you getting from point A to point B?
Time Defines rhythm, Spacing defines timing,
(ie even spacing will soften timting since there is no contrast)
Rhythm, in music, the placement of sounds in time, generally considered as an ordered alternation of contrasting elements. (ie the pattern of long and short notes)
Animation is like music, there is a flow to it where feet and hand placements can be thought of as drum beats.
